I am starting to think Cam has a shot, he has good size for an nba 3 6'7 215 and is averaging 17 a game and shooting very nicely from 3. FWIW NBADRAFT.NET has him 57th overall in next year's draft

Regardless of what Cam has done in 9 games this year, I don't think he translates well to the NBA.

Hield maybe. He is the only current player that has a shot at sticking in my opinion, and if I had to guess, I'd say he ends up overseas as well. Cam and Buddy both might get a little roster time, kind of like Taylor Griffin, or might get invited to camps, but I can't see either sticking.

Hield can find his way to the bucket with his slashing moves ala an nba player, but that's where it stops.

If Ronnie Brewer (both of them) can make the NBA, Cam can.

Aside from dribbling, he has all the physical tools to play the two (in a back-up role) in the NBA. His only roadblock is going to be the mental game. He's got to be able to self motivate and play smart. My guess is he gets drafted very late on measurables and this year's performance a la Osby, but is eventually released.

Buddy's game is going to be sick by the time he leaves here...and he's got the frame and athleticism, but who knows what the draft class will look like two years from now.

Clark and Hield seem like the only two that could make it right now. Don't know if either will.

No NBA love for Spang? He plays the same hardnosed kamikaze style as Eduardo and still has almost 3 years to improve his game.

With big men it's harder to judge. Spangler doesn't have insane NBA athleticism, so I need to see him against Big 12 competition before I will have an opinion on him.

I wouldn't have said this last year, but I think Cam might get a shot. He still has some work to do. But if he continues to improve his perimeter shooting, and especially his handles, he could end up with a summer league contract that will at least give him the opportunity to make it to the league.

It's too early to predict Buddy and Ryan's future right now. With two years to play after this season, who knows how good they'll be by the end of their senior season? Do they have a chance? I would say, yes.

The trait which most often translates to the NBA is rebounding.

Spangler = David Lee

Interesting opinions. I think Cousins has the best chance to make the NBA because I think he is progressing the fastest among all of the players. He was an unknown commodity until late his senior year. Now he is starting in the Big XII and doing a really good job.

I also think OU has a bunch of borderline NBA guys that likely all play over seas.

True dat.You can be a very good basketball player and still not make an NBA roster. There are only 480 in the world(32 teams x 15 man rosters).

Don't most NBA level players have the ability to make it to that next level after serving only one or two years in college?

I don't know the answer to that question but several juniors and seniors are drafted every year. I just see Cousins as a late bloomer with the most upside of all these guys. I could be wrong. I certainly am not an expert on basketball. I am just a fan.

Sure there are many juniors and seniors drafted each and every year, but a lot of that has to do with players wanting to improve their drafting position instead of being a late 2nd round pick. Think of Marcus Smart.

David Lee is a much better athlete and is bigger than Spangler. Not a good comparison.

I think they are pretty comparable actually. Lee in college was 6'9" 240 and Spangler is 6'8" 232 and both are athletic big men, Lee maybe a little more but not much. And their stats are comparable as well.

Lees career averages at UF: 11.3 pts, 6.8 reb, 2.0 ast, 0.9 blk, 0.9 stl. Lee had a better freshman year than Spangler but there Soph year to this point is right on track.

Lee: 64.8%, 11.2 pts, 6.8 reb, 1.8 ast, 1.5 blk, 0.7 stl
Spangler: 66.1%, 11.2 pts, 9.3 reb, 1.3 ast, 1.5 blk, 1 stl.
