In case anyone is interested, today's game is on Fox Sports 2 (DirecTV Channel 618). The Sooners are up 34-17 with 4:50 to go in the first half.

OU leads 44-28 at the half. Sooners not shooting well and Creighton managing to stay within reach by hitting treys. Griffin has been very good with 15 points and a ton of rebounds. OU also rebounding well as a team.

Vegas has had about three bad games in a row in which she can't hit anything. Worse than that, she is trying to make things happen and ends up shooting bad layups that get blocked or turning it over. Right now, she needs to sit a while and get herself together.

Other than Griffin and Sharane, we really don't have anyone playing well. Griffin is going for every ball.

I thought we played well defensively, syb. Creighton had good ball movement to get some decent three-point looks. I'm hopeful the offense will come in the second half.

As Sherri said, we gave them some open looks late, not getting out on them. But, we'll play the percentages and not jump out and let them score inside. We have had zero game outside five feet in the last two games, except for Derica.

Aaryn continues to be our best rebounder.

I suspect Creighton may think they got hosed since they shot 13 free throws and we shot 30.

It was earlier reported Kornet was good to go but guess Sherri decided to hold her out.

Although we won, 80-52, we really didn't play all that well. We had a lot of turnovers that were totally unnecessary. It isn't that they were playing defense. We just lost the handle (Vegas?). We did play pretty solid defense most of the game, and they simply were bricking most of their three attempts, either than or air-balling them. If they didn't go in, they were terrible.

Griffin and Campbell played really well. Kaylon? Where was your head today? Kellogg gave us some decent minutes late in the game. Gioya made a couple of nice plays. But, she also keeps making some really bonehead plays. She plays without thinking.

It was interesting that what we saw initially from Edwards was someone who didn't make freshman mistakes. Once the season began, she is all about freshman mistakes. Gibbs didn't play.

Vegas finally hit a couple of threes. But, how many balls did she simply lose out of bounds for no reason? Morgan was OK. Kornet did what Kornet does, and she did play.

Sure glad we have Griffin and Campbell. Funny how we had three fouls on each of their interior four players in the first half. Nobody fouled out. We just didn't put that much pressure on the interior in the second half.

Kornet played, had four rebounds.

Creighton didn't drive at all. They took 71 shots, 41 from three point range. You usually don't get a lot of fouls on three point attempts or if you don''t drive. I don't think we came close to fouling on a three attempt.

We only shot sixteen threes out of 61 attempts. Griffin, Campbell, and Williams accounted for 28 of the 61 attempts, but the fouls took away some shot attempts. They shot 18 attempts at the free throw line, more than Creighton.

I think I had said that Creighton isn't what they were last year. They aren't really a good team, probably not much better than UTA. I don't think they were anywhere as near as good as Wichita, maybe not as good as Stetson.

I didn't get to see the game but don't recall hearing them call Kornet's name so assumed she didn't play.

I totally agree! I was there and I thought overall it was our worst game. Didn't seem to be a lot of energy although Sharane and Nicole G played well. Brian did mention during the post game interview that Kaylon had two quick fouls and then didn't foul again. Sherri told Brian that he was looking for the positives! And the unforced turnovers were very frustrating.

It's a long season and as we all know there are ups and downs along the way.

She played 11 minutes and played hard (4 rebounds). Glad they didn't push her for more.

Me too! She had one 3 that rolled around the inside of the rim and popped out but there was no need to play her any more. Sooooo glad she wasn't lost for the season!

I couldnt watch the gamer from where I am, but the unforced errors referred to are the result of not being focused. I dont think this team as a whole has really synced up yet this year. I hope (1) KayKay get her act together and stops fouling so much, (2) Vegas finds her shot - not too worried here,(3)Nicole becomes and stays aggressive,(4)Kornet starts playing like we all expect her to and (5)we learn to rebound. All this is trite and obvious but still yet to happen.

I think we are going to have to accept the fact this will not be a great rebounding team. I thought we would be a great 3pt shooting team but I'm starting to wonder about that. Other than Aaryn and maybe Wyatt, not sure who we can count on. Hope it gets better quick.

You're probably right when you predict we won't be a great rebounding team. However, I thought we were much improved on the boards against Creighton. We outrebounded them 56-43 overall. They were a little better than us on the offensive glass (15-13), but some of that came against our reserves in the final minutes.

This is the first time I've seen a game this year and although we could have been better I thought I saw a lot of good things. I'm really excited with the kids and although they are going to be up and down I really like the athleticism we have. Carter and the little guard just need PT and some seasoning. I still see them trying to do things that worked in HS that won't always work at this level. And I don't know much about Kellogg but it looks as if she has a big upside. I don't have the breakdown and all but I was very impressed with Nicole. she's so much different than the player she used to be. She must have really worked hard. And I wish we had 10 Sharanes out there. I think by the time she is done she'll be mentioned with the very special guys we've had.

I suspect Creighton may think they got hosed since they shot 13 free throws and we shot 30.

Tough to get to the line when practically every shot is a trey. I don't know if I've ever seen a game where a team shot like that.

We just lost the handle (Vegas?).

Ten years from now I'll still hold my breath as she blasts down court. Once she gets to about 15 feet or so it's a crapshoot.
