Spot on report, sam. Thanks for your hard work! Also appreciate the vid, OUHoops. This was my first look at the two featured players in this game.
My impression of Christensen mirrors that of Sooner23. Unless he is a lot better than what he showed against Ardmore, I don't see him as a high-major recruit. Mid-major or Division III perhaps. He does not appear to be particularly athletic. It was obvious that Ardmore's collapsing defense bothered him. But he could have done a lot more to free himself for better shots. He didn't seem to have a good feel for where the defenders where when he received a pass. He turned into a defender at times, when the opposite direction would have been a better choice. I didn't like his floater passes out of a double team either. A high percentage of those passes will be picked off by bigger, quicker college players.
I like me some Nino Jackson! I wasn't in awe of everything he did. But it's easy to see why OU and a number of other big name schools are recruiting him. Hard to say what his best position will be at the next level. Judging by what I saw in this game, he could play the one or the two, although his score-first mentality would need some work if he is recruited to play the point. He's not the selfish player I thought he would be, though. I didn't like the attitude display or his failure to get back and play defense instead of sulking, when he didn't get every call. That's a sign of a lack of maturity (not surprising for a high school kid) that will have to change if he is to succeed at a high level in college.
