Ardmore's Nino Jackson Considering Sooners

I don't know much about Jackson's game, but he's highly thought of. His reconsidering OU has to be a good sign that maybe Kruger can bring in the best of the local talent.

I don't really want him. He's got a decent game, but others have reported he has somewhat of an attitude problem, and he skipped some practices to get a tattoo.

Grades have also been a huge problem. I dont think he played in the playoffs this year because he was ineligible..

No thanks. Doubt he'd fit in very well with what LK wants to do. But I'll leave it up to LK, obviously.

You ain't **** unless you have a neck tattoo.

LK could keep him under control, something Capel would of had no chance of doing

Does this sort of highlight the one reason Capel was fired?
Good players just weren't seriously considering OU anymore.
Now we get Kruger and recruits immediately notice.
Just wondering.

Well...we need players and as long as he will toe the line, make his grades, and put out 100% effort on the court, off the court, and in the classroom, then I say we take him.

Everybody deserves a 2nd chance, just like Dusty Dvoracek, Josh Jarboe, and the kid from Vegas who quit (football) last year.

If he can't hold-up his part of the bargain, then cut him loose.

The only problem is, we can't afford to take a bunch of chances, given the condition of our program currently. One or two big mistakes in recruiting, and we're right back to where Capel had us.

Jarboe may have deserved a second chance, but it shouldn't have been at OU. I could probably argue the same for Chaisson. OU is good enough to not have to take chances on kids like that. In both instances you saw how it worked out. Not worth it.

We gave Jarboe a 2nd chance, remember? He was arrested at high school for taking a gun to school or somesuch. We allowed him to enroll and show up for summer workouts then he screwed the pooch.

Chaisson was also given a 2nd chance and he was never a problem, as far as I know, he just decided to quit football. Some claim he struggles with depression, or something like that (bi-polar, etc.). I think the coaches would take him back if he wanted it (to come back).

As others mentioned, Capel didn't have the oomph (lack of a better word) to deal with problem kids. I think Kruger can deal with them so if it were me, I'd give him a chance.

Agreed. This is only 1 chance on 1 kid, and he's from Oklahoma. Not many Oklahoma kids we have taken chances with that we were sorry about.

Keith Clark is one, but Capel couldn't get him to attend class. Maybe Kruger knows how to deal with kids like this. I'm sure the kids he recruited from inner-city Chicago would be considered rougher than Nino.
