I know it's from all the local slurpers around here but I'm getting tired of it. "OU would be 1-5 if it wasn't for KState". "OU beat KSTATE because Lon was motivated". And I also get tired of teams being good and all and then when we beat them it's "well, they weren't really that good". I realize it's the local humps and all but I think we're better and deserve a little more run. Am I just being thin skinned?

I say let the season play out before we answer that. I think we're better than some folks give us credit for, but I really want to see what we do against UT and ISU. We have four games left against those two teams, two teams that will likely finish between 4th and 6th in the conference.

You can go both ways. OU led Cincy for most of that game, led A&M for most of that game, and led Kansas for over a half. Hung with Baylor for most of that game. We aren't that bad, but KSU fans will overreact because they've been better the last few years and this year their offense just isn't that good. They rank high in rebounding and aren't that bad on defense. But their offense is just too inconsistent this year. You can pretty much say the same about OU.

meh...don't listen to them.

most of them don't even have the brainpower given to geese.

Honestly - we're somewhere in between how good some thought we were around the 10 game mark and how bad some of those guys were saying after the Mizzou game.

You can't really put a bullseye on where the team IS ... but you can tell what direction it is going. Up. Forward. Positive. In the "better" direction. That's what is important anyway to every team that doesn't finish #1 at the end of the season, right?

Easy response: KSU sucks, that is why CLK is at OU and not there...those wins just prove it.

I try not to put much stock in them either. There's just such an anti OU bias here - in both the print and on the airwaves. Once the bandwagon gets loaded and going downhill it's hard to slow down. I just hate having to double the effort just to get anything positive. I know we're better than that too.

We are not a Good Team, but we are not a Bad Team either. IMO, we have 3 or 4 D1 players Osby, Pledger, (Clark-Role Player/6th man type), (Fitz - Bench Player) on this team. The rest are bodies. I say that and appreciate all the kids on this team too. They seem to be good kids and play hard when giving the chance. Now Kruger has pushed this team and milked all the talent out of them possible. I am excited about the future and really think 2years down the road this team will be in the Top 10-15 year in and year out..............

We're not as bad as our record shows. The meat of our conference schedule is at the beginning, so the numbers are skewed.

We have gone over this ad-nauseam recently, but everyone on our team is a Division 1 quality player. There are 342 division 1 teams and no one on our team that couldn't start (and probably star) at at least a couple of them. What you mean to say is that we have 3 or 4 average to above average big 12 players.

this team is good enough to make the field of 65, lets see if they can make it, then make a cinderella run.

listen to the cool one... not only is he right, but if you do it'll help your blood pressure...

I said early on that no matter what happens this year, I already LOVE this team... even in losses they work so hard and never give up. And I can't help but feel good about the future... and it's been a while since I've felt that way about OU basketball.

Well said! Count me among the CoolM is right group as well.

This team has had some disappointing losses to be sure; a couple we were never in and others we should have won. Yet, despite the ups and downs, their work ethic has not changed.

As CoolM said, we're headed in the right direction. I didn't go into the season with high (and perhaps unrealistic) expectations. I wanted to see improvements, especially on defense, and my wishes have been fulfilled by a team that plays together and plays hard. A post season birth of any kind would be a bonus.

OK MNSooner, I can live that statement - you are correct. I love the Heart and Hustle of this team. I am pleased with the progress of this team. I hope I did not strike a nerve with you my friend.

This team is pretty good. We flat out choked two games away against inferior teams. If we just close those two games out, we're 15-6 and very well set up to make it into the big dance. The team just needs to avoid these 5 minute stretches where they completely implode. We did it to start the Missouri game, and to start the 2nd half of both KU games. Did it in th efinal 5 minutes of Cinci and aTm games. Don't really know how to explain it, either. It's like every player on the team forgets everything they've learned about the game of basketball, adn by the time they recover it's too late.

I think we are pretty good in spurts, but obviously against Top 10 type competition we just aren't there yet. We've already swept a Top 20 team though...hopefully our lack of depth/injuries don't ruin what has the potential to be a nice little run the next few weeks.

It takes more than just good coaching to learn how to win again.

Exactly. Gotta wash away the Capel Stink.

I think this is a nonsense statement. Thye know how to win. They've all won plenty of games at every level of basketball. Even though we were terrible the last few years, we still won games. It's not like we were 2-27 or something. We were .500 in conference half way through the season last year.

Exactly, I can't believe people are still blaming Capel for losing after Kruger has been here over 7-8 months. Like he brainwashed these players into becoming trained losers? Wtf. This team beat KSU twice, has given good teams a run for their money. We have seen what these guys can do, when they disappoint it's ok to blame them and Kruger.
