The mismanagement of the three guys last year left OU with a horrible roster this year and equal roster next year. When most people are recruiting in 2012, 2013, and 2014, OU is stiking out on leftovers in 2011.

It's better to cut your losses now than hang on, I guess.

Yep, and thats the best case scenario. But what if half the guys don't come back and we don't get a really good coach? How many wins then? 9 or 10?
 
Paramount to building and sustaining any business is the assesment, development and retention of key employees. Capel failed in all of this.

Won't take much to improve on the coach that we had. As for half the guys leaving, under Capel 56% (14 of 25) of his recruits left OU without a coaching change so what would have been the difference? Retention of players is why Capel is gone.
