Austin Grandstaff - Transferring

Would it have any I mpact a player like Trae Young? Even if Young is a point guard, or is Young a long shot?

I see no reason why Young and Grandstaff couldn't co-exist nicely in the same lineup. Trae is a true point guard. Austin is more of a shooting guard who can play the point. I love guards who can play both positions and score at the same time, which is exactly what the Trae/Austin duo would bring to OU. Grandstaff would also be an insurance policy in case we don't get Young.

Thanks for the answer. Would be 2 lights out shooters in the backcourt.

Perhaps Grandstaff could become a lights-out shooter under Lon's tutelage. He's been a 33% thru HS. Took a million though (> 10 per game).

some ax to grind it sounds like. Austin is a top 50 player. Higher than most of our guys if you are into that sorta thing...

Played at Rockwell where he HAD to score 45 for them to win.

Young I say is 25% chance to sign with OU. I think we are gaining ground.

He is an elite shooting guard. Gym Rat. Def has some to be desired but most of the there is...

Austin isnt a PG, Trae is a PG first and foremost.

Found an interesting article about Grandstaff's visit to OU with what I believe to be an incorrect statement about when he will be eligible to play (see excerpt below). Would he come in with the 2016 class, or would he have to sit out next year and come in with the 2017 class?

If Grandstaff decided on Oklahoma, he would enter the program next season along with OU signee and Class of 2016 Rivals150 guard Kameron McGusty.

He could join at the mid season point next year if he enrolls this semester, right?

With Shake killing it at SMU I think that only helps our chances.

If Kruger wants him, I expect a commitment by Monday. We finished strong second and are close to home and get the first visit. Would we still have a scholarship for Marques bolden?

Wow. We've turned into top 50 players committ now or we wont take them?

LK is notorious for not waiting on kids.

He isn't going to wait long as a kid that TWICE chose other schools ahead of OU (OK State and Ohio State). He is more of a luxury at this point than a need.

I don't know if Monday will be the deadline, but LK isn't going to let this linger. Grandstaff knows what OU has to offer, this won't be his first visit.

This is exactly right. I'm not sure we'll have his decision when he leaves the facility, but I'd be very surprised if it's allowed to percolate for more than 24 hours.

Agree. But if he wants a week, he'll get a week.

We dropped Pritchard for looking around and being shady.

Not AT ALL what I was saying. I'm just saying if Lon makes an official offer, I think that grandstaff will commit Monday after his visit because we are hot, we are close to home, and we've got a lot of PT to offer next year. Not saying anything about pulling his offer if he doesn't commit.

Ok. I read that wrong. My fault.
