Up 22 points with 6 minutes to play vs Ohio State

Now tied with 30 seconds left

What an unreal game. I couldn't believe my eyes when Happ set an illegal screen at midcourt.

What I would give if we could develop bigs the way Wisconsin does...

Big men are not where you want to focus things in college hoops.

Ohio State is beyond a dumpster fire right now. I know it was a spirited comeback, but they still lost. And that would be 6 losses in their last 8 games. They ahve gone from a 4/5 seed at one point this season to likely being out of the tournament if they lose their first round game in the Big 10 tournament.

Same is true in the NBA... Although to be honest, I don't perfectly understand it. It's amazing to me how little value the big man has, and how little impact they seem to have on the game.

Andre Drummond will have games with 15 points and 22 rebounds, or 19 points and 19 rebounds, and it's like thats not a big deal anymore. Nikola Vucevic in Orlando averages 21 and 12, and it's like it doesn't even matter.

What used to be considered extraordinary has been replaced by insane 3pt shooting.

Back in the day if you had a front-court of Blake Griffin and Andre Drummond, you probably had a great team... Now you can't even make the playoffs unless you can hit 15 3's per game.

Just teams getting smarter. Spreading things out makes it damn near impossible for the defense. What the Warriors do at their best reminds me of the OU football offense.

But there's still a place in the league for great big men. They just need to know and accept their role. Stephen Adams and Clint Capela are perfect examples. Those guys are hugely impactful players precisely because they don't need to score points to be happy or effectie (although both are capable of scoring).
