Baylor at OU

Am I the only one who think T'Ona and Cater have an opportunity to start next year.

I don't think Edwards will but Gioya is sure coming on. I like her. Don't get me wrong I like Edwards too but I think Ortiz will be the starter.

I think Sherri saw the handwriting on the wall and left Sharane, Gioya, and Vegas in the game to make a point. She made the point to Lawson. It is time for Boren and Joe C. to back Sherri up. Take the Big Twelve to court, leave the league--do something.

That ain't gonna happen.

I sometimes do not understand why Sherri runs the defenses she does or plays the players she does.

I hope that Sherri didn't let those girls foul out intentionally to make a point. That would be one of the dumbest coaching moves ever. We are fighting for a trip to the NCAA and a decent seed. No way you intentionally lose a game in our situation.

I was thinking play T'Ona at the 1 and put Ortiz at the 2 to free her up like Baylor doing with Sims Louisville doing with Schimmel and UConn doing with Hartley.

We need to spend extra time working on the fundamentals of good basketball. Blocking out every shot, move the basketball on offense, defend with movement not reaching, active hands with more hand up reaching, etc, and a coach that will draw a technical if necessary to make the point to officials that they are not calling an even game.

You're preaching to the choir now! Good post!

Early in the game, griffin was following the post out to the three point line and then doubling on sims. I don't think Nicole is fast enough for this strategy......Baylor would have the shot up before Nicole could get back for the rebound.

I wish Sherri could teach the women to use the match-up zone that Kruger is using with the men's team.

Rebounding was a real sore spot tonight.

You always assume that Sherri doesn't know what she is doing.

What would you have done differently after Sharane and Aaryn fouled out? How would you have subbed differently? What magic defense would you have called?

She could have taken them out and did not! I don't know the reason but she let them play. Like MPS said they actually played better without someone who was looking over their shoulder for their 5th foul. The last two fouls on both of them were so bad even the announcers admitted it!

I wish Jim Boeheim come to Norman and teach our girls to play zone.

The secret to Boeheim's zone isn't how he teaches it. He only recruits guys with extra long wingspans. I don't think there are enough players that meet that criteria in women's basketball.

That's somewhat true but they also do a good job recovering and rebounding.

Doubling Sims with Griffin was...how do I say this politely...not a good move. Griffin needs to be in the paint. She darn sure isn't in position for a rebound 25 feet from the basket. She can help clog the middle on defense and close some easy interior passing that Davis benefitted from. Plus, she isn't quick enough to stop Sims anyway.

In general, our zones suck. We give up open shots and dribble penetration.

We were closing the gap with Griffin and Kaylon in the game together and as soon as she took one out the lead opened quickly.

Those are just a few of the things I didn't understand.

Edit to say: Aaryn and Campbell would not have fouled out when they did if Sherri would have substituted.

Once again i said after the Gonzaga game we should start Griffin and Kaylon but everybody disagree with me.
