Game 9 - FIELD HOUSE GAME #21 OKLAHOMA (8-0) vs. ALCORN (0-9) 7pm CST on SEC NETWORK+

I love going to games at McCasland, and I enjoyed myself in there tonight even though it was only about 2/3 full. Small crowds get loud in there as opposed to the tomb-like atmosphere of an empty Lloyd Noble. Amazes me how the student body stays away in droves. But one look at the NE corner of Owen Field should suggest that that bunch should NEVER be catered to because they're far too finicky.

How much $$ would the program be throwing away if they just threw up double birds to the whole arena conundrum and played full-time at McCasland? Forget dropping nine figures on renovating LNC. To hell with UNP.....just play at McCasland. You get 5,000 in there and that place would absolutely rock. It'll never happen, obviously, but it's cool watching the Sooners play in a place that was actually designed with basketball in mind.

I was shocked to learn Alcorn was 0-10. Is that the worst team in D-1? If we're going to play sludge merchants like these then get Fang Mitchell on the phone and bring Coppin State back to town. He was worth the price of admission.

I've been out, will watch later. Saw a few of our bench guys stuffed the stat sheet, and some of our regulars had low minutes. I guess that was by design?

Glad the bench got some action and took care of business. Didn’t play our best this week by any means but had 2 comfortable wins.

Beat the hell out of the pokes!

Played with our food and let the dogs eat the scraps that fell on the ground. Fun game as usual in McCasland FH.

14:49 mark of the second half I thought you were home free. I left because I was about to strangle my seven-year-old in full view of the crowd, but I thought that money was heading straight into your pocket. My sincerest apologies.
I appreciate the condolences.....but it was just pizza money ($20).....so no biggee. Hope your little one calmed down enough for you to enjoy some of it.

They have a strong argument for being the worst team in the country, at least thus far. Was checking their numbers today and they were 350 or worse in pretty much everything other than rebounding, where they were in the mid-250s.

And you’re absolutely right about the students. Why they continue to try to win that battle is beyond me.

Lighten up CT....I'm not panicking. Just a poor showing against a terrible opponent. Hopefully, it's our last one of this kind.
I didn’t watch. But looking at box score it was apparent that there was a conscious effort to get Dayton, wague, goodine some extended minutes which is what some folks have been saying. Get some people some

No, that’s not really what happened. We fell behind by nine less than four minutes into the game because, as Moser himself said, the starters didn’t come out competing on defense. The second unit got us back in the game so he stayed with them for a lot of the first half. Forsythe made some shots in the first half and Moser liked Wague’s energy so he stayed with them.

The second half was the opposite. The starters looked great and built a huge lead in the first five minutes, but the bench came in and played fairly sloppy. The game was never in jeopardy but it was a pretty blah effort and it counts the same in KenPom and the other per-possession metrics as it would on March 7.

Alcorn couldn't miss in the first 15 minutes and finished at 52% for the game. Our defense was not great, for sure, but they also hit some tough shots. Just a fluke-y game on their part, I suspect, but definitely frustrating. It was frustrating, too, when we, after a strong stretch in the second half, started settling for one or two passes and quick shot from deep (nearly all of which we missed).

It was nice to see Forsythe have a good game and Wague contribute. But it was a largely an odd and joyless victory. Still, a win is a win. I'll take it.
