Seems like we should just have an official BBJ thread.

He was pulling a Traber saying how 1 month ago, he said that James Anderson would be big 12 player of the year. Don't walk too far off that branch BBJ.

There is no doubt he's the player of the year. The only group of fans who would think otherwise is Kansas fans.

I never buy best player on the best team. (to me that's Pullen anyways) It's the best player, period.

and the performance he put on Saturday should lock it up for him...If there is a definition of a team falling off if they lose 1 player it is OSU, he is the most valuable...

I'd say that was a stretch a month ago.

No matter what kind of crazy numbers he put up, Anderson wasn't going to be player of the year if OSU finished 8-8 or 7-9 with no other "signature" win other than the K-State win in Manhattan.

It's only a few games difference, but with OSU at 9-7 (probably) and Anderson having a great game on a big stage in OSU's biggest win, I think it's a lock now.

It's kind of funny how one game on a big stage can change things. It reminds me of 2004 when OSU beat Texas late in the year in a game that essentially clinched the Big 12 title. Up until that point, everyone had been talking about John Lucas as the POY... then Tony Allen has a huge game and everyone jumps on his bandwagon and he wins the POY.

he had just as good of numbers 1 month ago. i don't think it was a stretch.

I know. My point was that even with the same numbers, he wouldn't get POY if OSU finished 8-8 or 7-9 with no other signature wins.

But with OSU finishing 9-7 (likely) or even 10-6 (possible), it makes it much more likely.

Anderson should get the Big12 POY. I'm not positive who votes on it. Is it the media or the coaches?

What has impressed me with him this year is his improvement on D. He plays hard on D and you don't see that from many scorers in college.

A friend of mine was at the osu/ut game and several Thunder players were sitting behind him. He said they all were pretty impressed with Anderson's game.

I was listening last week and bbj, rodgers and pat jones were having a bb discussion; I swear that pat jones knows more about bb than either of the other two.

Anderson is without a doubt the Big 12 POY

Good for you Cheno. (seriously)

It doesn't take anything away from Collins, JA is just having one of those years.

I don't think anyone could justify anyone else, maybe Pullen if they win in Lawrence Weds and he gets around 25. Anderson would also have to struggle in the last two. (unlikely)
