like to see more of this lineup

cousins,hiedl,pledger,osby and fitzs, any thoughts?

That is our best offensive lineup, but I don't think it is our best overall lineup. I like the lineup of hornbeak, cousins, pledger, osby, and mbaye. I think you could switch hield for cousins if you think hornbeak could be effective at the point.

I would love to see us go very big, and very athletic for small stretches of the game.

With M'Baye's ability to play the 3, we can go BIG!

Cousins- 6'3
Clark- 6'6
M'Baye- 6'9
Fitz- 6'8
Osby- 6'8

That is an overwhelmingly huge and athletic lineup.

If Heild can run the point, you could put him in there for more scoring

Team are more likely to pressure the ball after UT-Arlington and that line up doesn't have near enough ball handling.

Just think of the turnovers though...

LOL at some of these.

If you want to get the five playing the best overall ball on the court, you sit Cousins, slide Hornbeak to point, and put Hield in the lineup. Hield is a little too much of a gunner right now, for me anyways, to be starting. I'd probably keep things how they are, and just be quicker to substitute. And while I don't think M'Baye is playing particularly well right now, I don't think I'd start Fitz over him just yet.

Lol @ this.

I don't really know what the best lineup is at this point but I find it interesting that Hornbeak is playing the most minutes at 26.5 per game. To me that means Kruger wants to get him experience and intends him to have a significant role come conference play. Pledger is playing 24.5 and M'Baye is playing 23. It is interesting that Hield, Osby, Cam Clark and Fitzgerald are all playing less than 20 per game.

I really don't think it will look like that come conference play. I suspect Hield, Pledger, Osby, M'Baye and Fitzgerald will all play 25+ once the lineup is resolved. I also think one guy will settle in at pg and get most of those minutes.

I need more of a sample with Cousins to leave him out right now. He needs experience. I was watching the shoot around before the game, really trying to get a good look at how our guys shoot the basketball. I know warmups aren't particularly the best barometer of shooting ability, but you can look at their form and see if their technique is really built for being consistent. I think Cousins has more of a line drive trajectory, but he was pretty consistent. Hield almost never missed in warmups. Hornbeak has very good form and almost never missed either. I think those guys just need to calm down in the game and let things come. Shooting is so much about confidence. You look at Pledger, he doesn't make them all but I think he believes that every one of them is going in. Grooms I think is the opposite. He could shoot better but I think his brain is locked on doubt.. I guess all I'm saying is I want to see more shots from Cousins and Hornbeak. I'n the scrimmages and exhibitions they were both money...

To early to be looking at minutes, and trying to determine anything. Pledger would have played more in that first game, except for foul trouble. When you are looking at averages made up of two games, the sample size is WAY too small to be trying to get anything from the stats.

I do agree that Hornbeak is going to play a major role for us. And his minutes are up, b/c until late in the UTA game, he was getting a lot 2nd team pg minutes.
