What in the wide world of sports happened? Last I knew we were wondering how he can't even get a shot off and he explodes for 22 with 6 attempts. What should be his potential ceiling and what do we expect tonight? No shots or a green light?

This is what I love about the newness of each year. The potential for someone to emerge. It finally happened and I finally have a bit of fire in my belly for a game.

Lon said on his show last week that the coaches have been encouraging him to look for his offense a little more, and that he has shown signs of doing that in practice recently. Saturday would indicate that wasn't just lip service. I think the nice thing about JB is that he has a great feel for the game, especially for a freshman. So I think he will make the right decisions on a game-by-game basis based on how the defense is playing him and how his teammates are playing, whether that means taking 3 shots or ten.

Bienemy has done a really nice job at the point, a position I don't think he anticipated playing this season - especially when OU signed Calixte. His offense has come in short bursts, but his defense and taking care of the ball has been off-the-chart good.

Funny, billed as a 2-guard scorer, or at best a combo point coming out of HS, he has been a super point guard, an elite defender and a reluctant scorer. He'll likely slide to the wing next year with Harmon coming in, but he, Reaves and Harmon will be a significant upgrade over James and Odomes/Reynolds/ Calxite.

I am with you OU Baby, I love the new guys, almost always a surprise or two.

When I saw Jamal firing up shots without looking for someone to pass to, I said to my wife, it’s about time! Coach Kruger finally got through to him!

Let’s hope he plays the same way tonight.
