Seriously, I agree with BT's rankings. Looks about right to me, at least with how the teams have played to this point. That could easily change when the conference portion of the season kicks off.

they do turn the ball over a lot. But they took pretty good care of it in the games where they need to: San Diego State, BYU and Northwestern. Pierre Jackson is a good big12 point guard. Not as good as the Missouri guards but he's a big improvement from Walton on the offensive end. If you have watched them, you can clearly see that. I wouldn't call it a hole.

Ada- laughing out loud. I do concede that on paper Baylor is probably the most complete team. But I watch them enough to be well acquainted with their warts.

How do you guys know enough about Texas, A&M and KSU to rank them ahead or behind OU? I really have no clue where to rank OU in the Big XII.

I don't think it's something you can turn on and off, especially against teams that really put pressure on you. MU no longer employs pressure full court, but there's been no dropoff at all in the amount of steals we get (and we're far more efficient with it, as well; we lead the country in both steals per foul and steals per turnover).

Baylor will struggle with turnovers. But unlike last year, they put the ball in the basket at a good rate. Kenpom rates them top 30 for offensive efficiency in spite of the turnovers.

Oddsmakers have Missouri as the overwhelming favorite to win the conference so that will likely happen. They are currently -275.

Kabongo had a hurt back and didn't play well- 4 turnovers in 15 minutes and only had 1 point and 1 assist.

In the post game presser: "I told him, 'We're going to get guys out there who will play,'" Barnes said. "There's too many guys on our team who want to play."

true- Barnes has a way of alienating those programs. A lot of the top AAU programs in Texas want nothing to do with him. Texas fans say it is because Barnes isn't on the take and EVERYONE else is. But there is a different story that is much closer to reality. Players are talking and coaches like Kruger, Drew, Martin, Haith, Hoiberg and Ford have a much better reputation with players.

Players know what they are getting with Gillespie. He has his charm but elite players aren't going there. Self and Barnes have been on top long enough that I think they feel "above" certain activities that usually leads to recruiting success. Now that the Grassroots Canada pipeline has dried up, it will be more difficult for Barnes to land "elite" guys. He had Ridley for a second- may still get him.

Self's recruiting has become more difficult ever since the FBI started sniffing around the program for the ticket scams. And his entitled attitude is catching up with him with the players also.
