Big day for Big XII Basketball

No, it's not.

In order to have little brother syndrome, you must be jealous of a superior rival/team and act out in such a way. Since OSU is obviously not OU's superior, your comments don't make any sense. Please don't make me explain it again. Ask one of your smart friends to correct you, as I'm tiring.

As for why I won't root for OSU?

Just off the top of my head....

1. I think Travis Ford is a clown. A loser. A gimp. His actions throughout his coaching career are not those worthy of someone I would pull for in an athletic competition.

2. Conference RPI is not the only effect OSU's basketball prowess has on OU

3. Nash. This point is self explanatory.

4. OSU fans. Most of them are nice enough, but my experience at the Bedlam football game still leaves a sour taste in my mouth. (As a note, if you were to hate OU football and always root for them to lose, that would be little brother. I hope this note helps show the difference)

5. Did I mention Travis Ford is a little Napolean *****?

6. The Sutton family is a disgrace to college basketball

Is that enough reasons besides some measly RPI?

I will never pull for OSU basketball. Ever.

Signed,

Big Brother.

I wish I would have said that.

Interesting.

Big brother doesn't hang out in little brothers room. You won't see us on a lil brother message board to see if your paying attention to us.

Signed,

Big Brother

Also big brother has many more wins head to head with little brother. And crushed little brothers dreams when you "bottled" the crowd from old gih

Interesting.
I'm glad I could help you figure it out. You can't be little brother if you aren't the little brother. It's not difficult.

OU football vs. OSU football is Exhibit A in big brother/little brother. I'm not sure there is a better example out there.

Big brother simply yawns, chuckles, rolls his eyes and doesn't notice when OSU and their fans try to bow up. OSU is going through their greatest 10 year run in program history. But it's been very hard for big brother to even notice, which tends to happen when during that same stretch OU is 9-1 against little brother, while winning half the conference titles. You're trying, but we aren't noticing. That's little brother/big brother.

Sure, the basketball series and records are closer, but only OSU fans, the local media, and you, think OSU is even eligible to be big brother.

You're trying way too hard.

WVU lost a close game to Purdue by 3 points. That is too bad. That would have been a nice win for the conference. ISU is in a tight game with George Mason. Baylor is up big on Southern.

If we are your little brother, why are you still here? No room over at orange power?

Never called anyone a little brother. Simply pointed out that cheering for your rival to lose at the detriment of your own team and conference is the thinking of a "little brother". Don't agree? I'd be surprised if most of the smarter college basketball posters here don't agree with my thinking.

If you sincerely wish to spread that message, one might ask why you're here. You've got a lifetime of preaching to perform among your own brethren.

Perhaps you consider the OU-obsessed orange-clad clown posse a lost cause in that regard, and understandably so.

I don't know if I am one of the smarter poster's or not. But, I don't agree with you. OU doesn't need OSU to win to achieve their goals. OU doesn't need a top conference RPI to be in a position to achieve their goals.

Having a high conference RPI is nice. But, it is not essential. Last season the Big 12 was 5th. But, through our own efforts the team put them selves in position to achieve their goals.

I don't like Travis Ford, Burns Hargis, Boone Pickens, or that flopping Marcus Smart. I would be happy if your team lost them all.

You just don't know what the term little brother means. You can't be a little brother unless you are inferior to the other program/team involved. Why can't you understand that?

If anyone agrees with you, they are wrong.

You can say it's illogical to root against OSU in an out of conference game and make that point, I'm sure some would agree with that, but invoking the little brother tag in this instance is an incorrect usage of the term. We aren't your little brother in basketball.

One more example.

If you were to root for Alabama in the Sugar Bowl and then rub a Sooner loss in the faces of your Sooner friends, that would be little brother. We are your big brother in football. The face of your program is 1-13 against OU as a player and coach. That's little brother.

Well said. And this is besides the fact that he used the little brother term incorrectly. As I said if an OU fan wants to root for OSU in non conference games there is at least logic to consider behind that. I won't do it for the reasons I and you have stated. But again, little brother doesn't fit.

Any OU fan should always cheer against OSU, and Texas for that matter. Why would we want our chief rivals whom we compete and recruit against to perform well? For conference RPI? Laughable. I frankly didn't put a lot of effort into cheering for or against the Pokes last night, but I certainly would have rather the Buffaloes won. Oklahoma St. being good at basketball doesn't help the University of Oklahoma in any way. Conference pride doesn't mean much to me. Just want OU to perform well.

And as a testament to how excellent the Big XII TV contracts are most of those games headline the national TV slate today. The exposure all 10 teams in the conference are getting nationally is unprecedented.

Thought the contract kinda sucked because the OU-A&M game was on ESPNU I think ,Already pay 100 plus dollars for cox cable, so why should I step up and get ESPNU
I watched the Tulsa TCU game just because it was on, I'd much rather would have watched my own team

OSU is not our chief rival. OU's chief rival in football is Texas. In basketball it is KU.
