Big kid Khadeem Lattin has become Sooners' energizer

Good read! With Lattin's energy, his defense and his ability to block or change shots, he has developed into a nice piece on this team almost overnight. He also has really good hands, something his main competition for playing time does not have.

If Khadeem continues to develop at the current rate as he gains more experience, and above all adds more muscle to his skinny frame, he has a chance to be a star someday. Maybe even next year if he works hard in the off season.

I found the stats that werosted showing him being better than average when adjusted for playing time to be interesting.

I was at the TCU game, and would add an observation here. During pregame warm-ups, a loud voice could be heard from the court on several occasions. It was Khadeem. Periodically, he would smile and shout out ... "our dog is bigger than your dog." The most notable time he did this was when the TCU team came out of the locker room and ran onto the court next to the OU team (like a challenge to the TCU team). These Khadeem "shout outs" were loud enough to be heard 20 rows up into the stands.

My impression from all this was that (1) Khadeem loves the game of basketball, and (2) he may have some leadership qualities in addition to his obvious athletic skills. Khadeem is just flat-out excited to play the game; so much so that he has to let it out.

"Our dog is bigger than your dog." --Khadeem Lattin

I've been very happy with Lattin's play lately.

As long as the team's bite is bigger than it's bark, I'm ok with the verbal stuff.

I'm impressed with Khadeem.

Just make sure the team's bite is at least equal to it's bark.

He is the 14thleading shot blocker in the conference. When you consider his limited minutes that is very impressive. If he played starter minutes he would likely lead the conference in blocked shots.
