Big Twelve tournament

Assume, OU loses at Tech, WV wins at Texas (not all that certain)

WV #4 OU #5

OU wins at Tech, OU #3

With one game left

Baylor 17-0
Iowa State 11-6
Texas Tech 11-6
Oklahoma 10-7
West Virginia 9-8
Oklahoma State 9-8
Kansas 7-10
Kansas State 5-12
Texas 4-13
TCU 2-15

It actually doesn't matter. If you finish below one no one remembers.

you seem to have forgotten OSU. If they beat IS again and we lose we could be a #6.
I'm not seeing how this is possible. If Tech beats OU, it is the #2 team, if OSU beats Iowa State. That means that OU's win over the #2 team, Tech, gives it the seeding advantage against OSU.

Yes you are correct.

I've gone through the permutations and it looks like we could end up 5th if we lose to Tech, Iowa St beats OSU, and West Virginia beats Texas. That puts us in a tie with West Virginia and they hold the tiebreaker if Iowa St finishes 2nd.

So of the 8 possible outcomes of the three games, we finish 3rd 4 times (we win), 4th 3 times, and 5th once (the above scenario).

Disclaimer: The only tiebreaker rules I could find were written when the conference had divisions. If I drop the division related tiebreakers, I get:

1) head-to-head
2) Record against 1 seed
3) Record against 2 seed
...

We will have a tough time beating Tech in Lubbock tonight.

I'm afraid you're right. If we are willing to go nose to nose with them on defense we certainly can win but, if not, it will be tough.

I think the bracket generator said the same thing.

Oh, ye of little faith! If there's one team we own, it's Tech. What's it now, 16 of the last 17?

If we would not have gotten great games from Jo and Aaryn and good games from some others, we would have lost. Sure glad it worked out the way it did though!

The lack of depth is so much of a problem that it is not possible to know what the next game will bring with this team. That is why I appreciate each and every game we win.

You did call it right on being willing to go nose to nose with them defensively.

With our lack of depth, we have to walk a fine line between aggressive defense and staying out of foul trouble. We walked it beautifully tonight,.

It will be very interesting to see how the not-in-the-same-city-as-mens-tourney experiment goes.

That said, if they don't have comparable attendance to years where it's been in the same city, they need to change immediately next year.

The womens postseason has had experiments in the past that have lowered attendance (remember the year OU played its opening rounds in Tempe? It was fun to go to Arizona, but the attendance was sparse) and while I'm sure there are reasons for these switches, one of their primary (if not TOP) concerns must be attendance.

Next years womens Big 12 Tourney will be at the Chesapeake Arena in OKC. It will be separated also mfrom the mens tourney.
