He just said the Big XII Tournament will likely stay in KC. He should lose his job over that. We are fundamentally stupid if we give Missouri this Tournament. It needs to move and never return.

I agree 1000%.

IDIOTIC to give this to KC when the Big-12 has so many good cities to host it and get the economic boost.

Maybe someone needs to start one of those CHANGE.ORG petitions to show him only 3 teams out of 10 agree with him.

Trouble is those three teams have the biggest fan bases and sell the most tickets.

The tourney ain't leaving Kansas City.

Tickets will get sold anywhere. KC might get slightly larger crowds, but I'm not even sure that is true.

I think all championship games should move around. Too many locations that make sense in the Big 12 to lock it into one spot.

Kansas City does the best job of hosting the tournament. P&L across the street, party is better, etc. Sorry, but it's the truth.

I'd love to have it back in OKC, but I see why KC has it.

I agree with that. I think they should move around, but if they're not, KC should have the tourney.

Uh, surely you have seen O.k.c's setup. Nothing better out there with Bricktown right there.

And NO way should a state with NO teams in the Big-12 get this tourney and economic boost. That's just stupid!!

I've been to both. Hell, when it was in OKC, I practically lived downtown for the weekend. Kansas City's new setup is better. I loved Bricktown, and before Sprint/P&L, it was far superior. It's not anymore.

I don't care how good of a job KC does. It should not be in Missouri. You do not reward former partners that quit and try to financially harm you. Not one penny of conference money should benefit Missouri

Not only that, but Kansas and Iowa State fans travel well. So if you move it further down South you would likely see an increase in ticket sales for 7 of the ten teams with only Kansas State having a noticeable decline.

I feel the need to say no to Dallas. The tourney just is not the same there. I would have no problem with it being in OKC, Tulsa, or maybe somewhere else in TX (San Antonio maybe). But Dallas just seems to not care for the basketball tourney in my opinion.

Btw.....I hate Missouri as much as the next guy, but it is a great tourney here in KC.

Still bitter?

Missouri didn't "try to financially harm you." That would, however, be a nice reason to keep the tournament out of Texas.

We are not bitter, it's just the dumbest thing EVER to hold a tourney in a state that has NO MEMBERS. How dumb is that. Who cares a dime about KC. They can rott as far as I'm concerned.

The stupid commissioner is gonna get his butt kicked when the AD's get him in a room.

I think the tournament should be held wherever is best for fans attending. The state shouldn't be a primary consideration. But I get not wanting to hold it in a state where there are no conference teams and don't really care if the Big 12 wants to move it. Any benefit KC has to Mizzou or Mizzou fans shouldn't be a factor.

We aren't the only conference that does this. The Pac-12 holds their's in Vegas.

Well, it's BEST for KU KSU & ISU fans to hold it there but the rest of the conference is Screwed. Move it and NEVER go back to KC. All your doing is holding it in Allen Field House East AND putting money in a state that told the Big-12 "SCREW YOU" - No Thanks.

That screw you was a reaction to the same from the powers that be in the Big 12. Had your conference not take a n elitist, backwards position (not unlike your position here), Mizzou would still be in the Big 12.

KC is the best location for three of the conference's schools. OKC would be ideal for two. Texas would be preferable for four. Nobody gives a damn about what works best for WVU. And apparently of no consequence to you is what's best for the Big 12 as a whole.

I get not wanting to spend money that would benefit a rival. Norm has allegedly gone his whole life without spending a dime in kansas. But holding the tournament doesn't help a Mizzou in any substantive way, and Mizzou has nevertheless even a rival on the level that any rational OU fan would want to keep every possible penny out of our pockets. Yours is an irrational, emotional response to something you should be blaming your own leaders for.

I say screw Mizzou and the state. I have a friend who works at the OU athletics office. Both Joe C. and Boren were assured by the Mizzou President and the Governor of Missouri that they would not leave if OU did not leave. OU had invitations to both SEC and Pac 12. OU did not want to leave the big 12, and with assurance from Mizzou they turned them down. THen look what Mizzou did. Big 12 will not even exist in 10 to 15 years because of the loss of Mizzou and A&M. OU needed to leave when the had the chance. I am a big time KC royals fan, but have not been to a game since this occurred as they play in Missouri.( sure its being petty, and I am sure I will return at some point.) But with the information I have been given, this was an extremely slimy deal that Mizzou did.
