I think the KSU game is the biggest game in Lon's tenure. Fresh off an upset of Baylor, OU has some real momentum headed into Saturday evening.

This may not be a good measuring stick, but you are even hearing the Sports Animal guys talking about OU hoops again. Quite a change from OU played so and so last night and lost. They actually talked about the game - amazing.

Interest and fans are starting to come back and a win Saturday would really keep the wave going.

As far as fan support for this season, I would agree this is the most important game of Lon's tenure. I think we will have a good crowd and if they can (a) win and (b) show some more fun to watch basketball (as they have all season) then the crowds will be back for more games.

However, if we lose or if it's a very lackluster performance the crowd may still come for KU but that's probably it.

My brother-in-law, who lives in Edmond, bought a 4 pack of tickets for tomorrow nights game and is taking the whole family. He hasn't been to a game since the 09/10 debacle of a season and I don't think he's watched the sooners but a handful of times in the past 3 seasons prior to the Baylor game. He is a big thunder fan and gets thunder tickets thru his employer, so the fact he is going is a good sign to me that the fans are jumping back on the bandwagon. Now we need to win the game to keep them there.

He also bought 2 tickets to the KU game.

I hope the fans show up tomorrow. Fans are what create a home court advantage. They influence the officials and inspire the players. It is important.

Regrettably neither have I, but that's about to change on Saturday. As silly as it may sound, I have a bunch of friends my age [40, I'm a man] that are actually talking about the need to do their part to help the program. Sort of weird, like when we had Blake still getting 65,000 in the seats...I get it for football, but basketball, never thought it would happen.

FWIW, I think there is a little Thunder backlash happening as well, yep Thunder are great but $200.00 for a good time vs. $50.00 for a different but still a good time is an entertainment dollar "decider" as well. I'm confident that OU and the Thunder can coexist if Lon can get and keep OU basketball relevant. In fact, the Thunder helping Oklahoma become a more basketball oriented state may actually help OU in the long haul.

IMO opinion it's a big game but most likely it being a "big" game is probably more for fans than for the coach or the team. I think this is all just part of the road for LCC and he's not going to to put too much emphasis on one game. Should we win here then how would you categorize the game against KU? Hopefully the coach and the team is still taking things as they come.

I think this is one of the most important games in OU's history for quite a long time. Win and have momentum going into the finale part of the season with a chance to finish high in the league and on to post season. Lose and that makes the road very difficult for any post season games.

I go to all the home games, but this is the most excited I have been for a home game in a long, long time. I cannot wait to get to the LNC today.

Yes, it is a big game!

To date yes...however if we win (or even if we do not), the KU game will be bigger...
