That was disappointing to see...I think it was 1 pt and 5 fouls, hopefully Blair steps it up next time. At least 40 Cal played decent, albeit a little sloppy at times.

Ya, they made it sound like he was "the guy" and then he comes out and scores 1 point and fouls out.

i think he should have gotten more minutes still.. he had some terrible TO's but newell had even worse ones.. getting picked at the half-line was embarassing..

I changed my mind...i'll take the upside of Newell and 6 turnovers per 6 assists with the points rather than 5 turnovers in 8 minutes...

both make me a nervous wreck, but at least Newell can score and adds some energy...

Have you lost your mind just as Capel. If OU had started Blair all 7 games,
OU would be 0-7 right now instead of 3-4. A point guard has to be quick,
able to penetrate, can provide offense, provide energy for the team. I wonder who would thata be. For the future of OU basketball, if Blair or Newell would transfer, who would you want to keep. Capel used to be a point guard, I thought that would be one of the position that we would be strong at, but the last two years we have guards that are too slow and let
opponent point guard penetrate at will.

I'd take Blair.. You can't coach good offensive awareness.. Blair has it significantly more than Newell.. Newell is the superior athlete no doubt but Blair has better ball handling, passing, and IQ.. The both last night had terrible turnovers but blairs were not any worse than Newell's so idk why Blair was benched for the rest of the game practically.. Newell also had more TOs that we should have lost but got lucky.. Both of these guys need to get plenty of minutes because I like both.. But I don't really think Newell is a PG.. He's more of a supporting 2

They gotta stick with one guy. They can't yo-yo both kids. My vote is for Newell because he's the better player. Blair maybe the better pg, but Newell is substantially better.

My worrry is Newell will get frustrate and transfer. We will lose ourself a potentially very good point guard. I don't care much for Blair.

Anyone who might have been asking why OU is recruiting a point guard for next year, got their answer last night. I'm hoping Newell and Blair will do a better job of controlling the ball going forward. I like the way Blair runs the offense and I like Newell's upside. But they're both too loose and sloppy with the ball to be our point guards of the future, unless they work hard on their handles in the off season and improve substantially in that area by next fall.

Blair is also a liability on defense. But, he's not the only one.

I was asking that and yes I got my answer. Next year, they'll provide depth.

I think each player on this team is a liability on defense...at least it sure seems so...no one has stuck out to be a good defender yet..
