The committee’s current seeds were just released on CBS. Baylor is the number two overall, WVU 10, OU 12, Tech 15, and UT 15. Five of the top 15 isn’t shabby for a league that sucks and isn’t very deep according to some of our posters in the preseason. :) So that has Baylor as a one seed, WVU and OU 3, and Tech and Texas 4. Obviously we can help or hurt our seed a lot over the next three weeks.

Decided to do a little analysis of the NCAA Net Rankings on the Conference Level. I calculated the average net ranking for each conference, and the average excluding the two worst team in the conference.

#1 Big 10 - 43.29
#2 SEC - 65.07
#3 ACC - 69.67
#4 Big 12 - 69.70
#5 Big East - 77.64
#6 Pac 12 - 87.08

Excluding Bottom Two teams

#1 Big 10 - 29.08
#2 Big 12 - 29.13
#3 SEC - 51.92
#4 ACC - 56.62
#5 Big East - 61.67
#6 Pac 12 66.40

There are only 3 teams in these conferences with a Net 200 or above

Washington State - 203
Iowa State - 229
Kansas State - 235

We are being drug down by those two by a lot.

Why are we in region 1 and not region 3?

They showed a graphic during the game that showed Alabama a 2 seed, OU and TT a 3 seed.

Why are we in region 1 and not region 3?

in a true seed bracket we should be in region 4 with ohio state, illinois, and iowa but that had to adjust because of bracketing rules already in place

Yeah that’s why things rarely end up going strictly according to the true seed line. For example, Gonzaga did not end up with the weakest two seed in their region despite being the top overall seed.
