Brad Stevens' let's get him. He's straight out of "Hoosiers" and OU needs a miracle. The guy preaches a team concept and seems to get the best out of his players. His record is great. He recruited the players who've been on top for 2 years. Big upside and probably less money than BUZZ.

Less money than buzz?? You're on crack. Stevens buyout>>>Buzzs buyout+Buzzs salary

How much is a buyout on a contract that has 11 years left?

Good question. I guarantee you that if one of the powerhouse teams gets in trouble and needs a coach in the next few years, though, they'll pay up. Stevens isn't going to spend the rest of his career coaching against Loyola, Wright State, Detroit, Youngstown State, etc. The guy is clearly destined for bigger and better things.

Brad Stevens would be the ultimate get, but the only way I see him leaving is for a job like Dook, UNC, etc.

I think he would leave for a promotion, a.k.a. any job in a bigger conference with better facilities.

But in order to leave, he's going to have to get paid. I don't see him holding out at Butler for Duke or UNC to come open. The question is really just who will pay the huge amount of money to bring him in?

Indiana?

Isn't Crean still there? I mean I could see WHY they would do it, but I thought they still had a coach.
I thought you had mentioned holding out for the right job. If Indiana came open, and they had the money, he would probably take it. He's a small town guy from Indiana, likely grew up rooting for them.

Well, I think he'll be out of Butler in the next 2 or 3 years. My point was that he isn't holding out for a specific job. I think he'll take a job at a big school if and when they come calling with a pretty sweet setup and the appropriate amount of cash.

In any event, I don't see OU doing this, but I'm a big Brad Stevens fan. I would certainly love to see him patrolling the sidelines at the LNC.

Crean will likely be fired in the next 2-3 years.

I'm surprised he hasn't been fired yet lol

His next couple recruiting classes will define him. If they fire him, whoever takes over next should be giddy at all the talent that will be awaiting. I still think Crean gets it turned around.

They showed a pic of him playing in high school rockin number 31, said Reggie Miller was his favorite player (poor guy)...I bet he is pretty heavy on the Hoosiers as well if he can stand to be a Pacer fan...

Stevens is a straight stallion. All you need to know about him as a coach was during Wisconsin's late run at the end of the game to make it close. Butler makes back-to-back careless turnovers, Stevens calls a timeout and the camera pans to him on the sidelines.

No panic whatsoever. Calm, cool, collected.

Brought the guys in, drew up another press-breaker, had a designed pick for Shelvin Mack which forced Leuer to switch and guard in space. Mack drains the step-back, game over.

Your team's personalitly reflects the coach's leadership and ability to control his emotions. Butler does not get flustered and that's because Stevens doesn't.

I'd take Stevens in a heartbeat. But when a guy signs a contract extension through 2021, that tells me he has no plans to leave in the immediate future. He may leave Butler someday, but it won't be this year or the next.

Maybe in 5 yrs when we are looking for our next coach he will be available...

All you need to know about Brad Stevens coached teams:

Butler's last seven NCAA tournament wins have come by a combined 25 points – the Bulldogs know how to make plays down the stretch. It doesn’t matter that they struggled to beat good teams during the regular season; the Big Dance is a clean slate for everyone.
