Bubble Watch

As weak as this thing is, you have to think that winning 2 games to get to 8-3 in our last 11 puts us in the very back of the field. Win three games (which should get us to 6 quad 1 wins and 12ish quad 1 + 2 wins is enough to lock the door.
Again, this is very basic stuff. Our record in our last 10 or 11 games is irrelevant. Our jersey color will be discussed as much by the committee. If you are under the impression two wins is enough to get us in the field, I hope you are prepared to be disappointed. Especially since one of those would come against an awful team.

We already have comparable resumes to the teams at the back / on the bubble...win two while those other teams go down to bad teams in round 1, and we will take a step up. 2 wins puts us on the first four out line, no question. Depending on who loses, it slides us into the back of the field. three wins locks us in the field.

OU net is 52 now. It was 55 after the texas win. Wake and osu wins yesterday must have boosted the net a bit for us. Va tech I think moved down below ou after their loss to wake, too.

Oklahoma

  • Record: 17-14 (7-11)
  • NET Ranking: 54
  • Quad 1 record: 3-9
  • Projected seed: Next out
  • Quality wins: at Vanderbilt
  • Bad losses: vs. Arizona State (neutral), at Mississippi State, at South Carolina
Stanford's loss opens the door for another team to join the first four out, and that honor goes to Oklahoma. While the Sooners don't have a great resume, they've been winning, and that's something not many bubble teams can say. With four straight wins, Oklahoma has to extend it to at least six to move up the conversation.

Next game: vs. South Carolina (Wednesday, SEC tournament first round)

IndianaSI has Oklahoma on Bubble Watch

SEC

Locks: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Vanderbilt
Should Be In: Missouri, Texas A&M
In the Mix: Auburn, Texas
On the Fringe: Oklahoma

It would be crazy if we ended up first out for the third time in 4 years. You couldn't accomplish that if you tried. Just crazy. But, it is shaping up that way with one or two SEC tournament wins. Maybe even with two win, the fact that we wil have beaten every team but the SEC locks will help along with our record over the last 10. That used to matter, but it is my understanding that it doesn't now.

In any event, good luck to the kids and coaches. Just keep playing defense and there is a very real chance to make a run.

If you aren't cheering for OU you should not be here
look I want OU to win and go on a run ..... BUT.................

i fully understand the POV that if a loss gets him fired let them lose .. i think that is a very valid thing ..

the gutless Joe C should have fired him over a month ago .. and then we could be 100% together in cheering for him
