Bubble Watch

Yeah, it seems like a low hanging fruit to swap out the 250+ for 150-250 range teams. Maybe the AD is not willing to pay up? I assume it’s more likely a lack of consciousness by Moser & staff though.

LK & his staff were masterminds at gaming the system. Wish PM or the next guy take that to heart, even if I can understand erring conservatively to boost the WL record.
I remember the year we lost to Sam Houston early. We may have lost once to SFA, as well....I don't remember. Perhaps Porter doesn't want to take those chances after getting burned.

Again, both Lon and Kelvin knew how to game the system and schedule properly in non-conference.

I think it’s pretty easy to figure out teams that are likely to be in the 100-160 range. We were one of the best programs at doing just that under the previous regime. There will be times you miss if a team has an unexpectedly bad season, but it’s not a huge mystery for the most part. And it sure as heck is at least worth trying rather than just going out and playing a bunch of teams among the bottom 40.
On Bart Torvik, replacing our worst opponents with Robert Morris, Valpo, and Wazzu puts us in a worse spot just because of potential of losing (-11% chance of making tournament compared to right now). Assuming we won all three it would increase our chances to make it by 3.8% and would be the last team in over Texas.

And if you lose enough home games to teams in the mid 100s, you don’t deserve to make it anyway but you can’t schedule scared.

Great win today, and it looks like Joe Lunardi has updated his bracket...and (becoming all too familiar for the 2020s) OU is the FIRST TEAM OUT. I know there are better prognosticators out there than Lunardi, but I have to at least think he's "in the ballpark". His last two in are SMU and Texas (ugh!). The others in his last four in are VCU and Missouri. I'm going to assume Missouri is ahead of us if we lose tomorrow...not sure about VCU. He has Auburn right behind OU, but I think they stay behind us no matter what.

Let's not leave anything to chance. Beat the piggies!

i bet OU will be in on CBS

Two years ago, I started a thread to predict what SEED we would have in the 2024 NCAA Tourney...that thread did not age well. Let's beat Arkansas before stating any certainties.
Nothing is ever certain especially when you're on the bubble, but I don't know OU has had a team playing this well this late in the season when it mattered. Much easier to push you off the bubble when you end the season limping in which this team clearly is not.
