Buddy Hield in good spirits after surgery

When is Buddy NOT in good spirits. The kid is a fog light in a room full of flashlights.

Amazing that Buddy has had such a major impact on this team. I am sure that he will do all that he can to be a major spark on the bench for the guys.

Thinking ahead to Buddy, Je'lon and Isaiah as seniors makes me really excited. Throw in Woodard and hopefully one more impact freshman next year, and we will be in a great shape program-wise.

Great kid. Wish him the best in his recovery and the rest of his career.

Buddy has quickly become one of my favorites on this team. Get well soon, BH! We're going to miss you.

I agree! Also, for those who go to a lot of the practices: do they normally pray at the end of practices? Just wondering

Great read! This is the type of player than we've been needing.

Just being Debbie here. Talked to a friend in whom I trust his opinion. He said the very same thing happened to him. Stepped on a foot and boom. He says Buddy will not be back this year! I hope he is wrong.

One has to ask though, was your friend a D-1 athlete at a major university like OU with their training staff and Dr's? Did he take care of his body like most D-1 Athletes do?

If so this is bad news, if not then there is still a good chance buddy can heal quicker than a normal guy off the streets.

Nope. D2 but he did take great care of his body and he was a tough sob. I saw him walk off the field in high school after tearing the crap out of his ligaments in his knee. He walked as if nothing was wrong! Never have saw anything like that before.

Well that sucks

Buddy seems to think he will be back in 3 weeks.

Sure hope Buddy is right, providing he does not risk making the injury worse by coming back too soon.

I remember when Blake surprised everyone by strolling onto the floor at Baylor and led OU to a win. Buddy is such a gym rat, maybe he can repeat the performance. [wishful thinking here, not saying he should]

Indiana State was tied for the Valley lead until last night when they got upset in Springfield (FWIW, Creighton was upset by Ill. St. tonight, vaulting WSU into sole possession of the lead); that's not a horrible loss to me. ISU has beaten the 'canes, as well as Ole Miss, won at WSU (snapped the 'shocks 19 game home win streak), & they also blew out Creighton. Jake Odum is one of those "best players you've never heard of." Underestimate him (& ISU) at your own risk. They're a bit schizo (beat Miami, lost to Morehead) but when they're on their game they're a tough out.

What?
