What do you think? Being 60+ years old, I would still give it to Wayman by a nose. Three straight years consensus All American is hard to top. And it would have been four if he had stayed. But there haven't been many like Buddy.

Wayman but Buddy is a testament to hard work whereas Wayman was a natural basketball player.

Wayman was also in a perfect system for him. Buddy did lead us to a Final Four and will be a top 10 pick so he will always be a top OU player.

Wayman for a career but I don't want to start a discussion too many good vibes to enjoy

I wish Wayman could have seen Buddy this year. He would have loved it!

Oh man, you are right about that. Wayman would have loved Buddy's smile and attitude. Wayman was the same way, opposing coaches loved him and marveled at him. Buddy and Wayman would have been fast friends.

Wayman...we miss you big fella. :oldwt356:

IMHO, the season Buddy is having is the best season ever by a OU player. If you want to compare OU careers it will get interesting.

Buddy and Wayman have that same kind of energy about them. It's a testament to Buddy that we could have this discussion at all.

I was too young for Wayman, but Blake was definitely better than Buddy, and supposedly Blake and Wayman were comparable. I guess that means I'm picking Wayman.

Way man hands down. First team All American 3 years and would have been the fourth if he stayed - I Love Buddy but Wayman was easily the best

I was a big Blake guy.. buddy has surpassed him

With all due respect to Buddy, it has to be Wayman. Wayman, Buddy, Alvin would make OU MT. Rushmore. After that there are arguments for several.

In years, yes. Not as a player. This threat is just about people getting caught up in the moment.

Is Buddy an OU legend? Absolutely. Is he the best to ever play at OU? Absolutely not.

If Blake stayed 4 years blake probably beats him.. but he didn't, buddy has the better OU career

Yep....I want to enjoy this. Though intimating Wayman wasn't the greatest is borderline blasphemy.

For this season alone: Buddy had scored so many points in a much different environment than when Tisdale played where Billy Ball ruled. Buddy is also doing it from behind the arc where Tisdale did his at the rim, where he was a beast tipping balls back in.

I probably watched every game Wayman played and was heart broken when he left early. His smile was the best until Buddy came along. Wayman did it for 3 years, so you can give him the nod for career if you want to over Heild 2 time POY conference and then national player of year, but if OU wins a NC next week, Buddy is undisputed. Disclosure: I did not ever see Adams play.

I watched every game Wayman played at OU too.

Wayman scored just as many from the smooth turnaround jumper as he did tip-ins.

Both are phenomenal players and even better people. That's where they get the nod over BG, who was a good fella at OU but his episode this year tarnished his legacy, IMO.
