Buddy practices today

Good news, Coach! If you saw the practice, how did he look?

Buddy went threw some workout today.

For those who didn't see this posted on Brandon Chatmon's Twitter:

We could use him especially for the Big 12 tournament. Hopefully he can get some (not to many minutes) against West Virginia and TCU and have his rhythm back in time for the Big XII.

Giving big time credit to the coaches and the team, as they have played very good without Buddy. The seniors have really stepped up during this final stretch of games.

Special props to Sam Grooms.

Welcome back Buddy!!

I didnt get to see but they worked him in off and def 5 on 5. He wanted to do more but me Alex brown limited him. Slow and steady!

He did a full-speed workout with a manager before practice, and participated in about 50% of the actual practice.

Looking good he'll be back by Big12

It sounds to me like he might play against WVU. That would be great. He might be able to start in the Big XII Tournament.

I think it would be huge to be able to get him some run in the 2 games prior to KC. I don't want to rush him but I also don't want him cold for the Big 12 or disrupting the good flow we have offensively right now. Without further injury, some floor time vs WVU and TCU off the bench and back in the starting unit for KC would ideal.

James Hale said last week that Hield could be back for the TCU game. I have no idea if that's speculation on his part or he heard it from someone in the know? But, judging by the reports, Buddy appears to be healing much faster than the medical staff predicted early on, so maybe Hale was right.

I'd be pretty surprised to see him on Wednesday. Maybe next Saturday.

Even Saturday would be great. Just a few minutes of game time before the tournaments would be a big deal in my opinion.

Alex Brown has shown it time (Blake) and time (Buddy) again:

I don't get this statement. What I recall of Blake's injury was that he missed several games for a concussion. I thought it was a slow recovery. Now I wouldn't remotely blame Alex Brown (or anyone) for the time it takes to recover from a concussion but I don't have a memory of Brown getting Blake back quickly. I also don't find this Buddy Hield recovery to be remarkable. Toes are often not put in a cast and I would say it is simply about Hield. A trainer can't make a bone heal quicker.

I think he might be referencing how fast Blake came back when he had his knee scoped. I don't think he missed several games with the concussion, though.

The Texas game and two others is what I thought.

How does a trainer impact the recovery time for a knee scope?

To me it is all about the patient not the medical staff.

I dunno. Maybe you are taking the Mr. Miagi (sp?) too literally.
