I guess it's hard to argue with someone that sees all of the facts I laid out above and doesn't even address them. It's much easier to say "he's not being mentioned for any other jobs", as if that even means anything. I guess the media and bloggers decide who is a good coach and who isn't. Hell Capel must be the coach of the decade after all the jobs he was mentioned for, even now after he has been fired.

Remember the great Mark Turgeon didn't make the tournament until his 6th season at Wichita.

And what was the WSU program like before Turg took it over? I'm asking, I really don't know.

I don't know either, but I do know that Wichita has had a long tradition of competitiveness. In other words Wichita State basketball was alive and well prior to Turgeon's arrival. One can not say the same about Winthrop basketball prior to Marshall's arrival.

By the way a quick Google news search yielded results from sources in North Carolina and Arkansas which listed Marshall as a candidate for the NC State and Arkansas job openings. His name is out there.

Turgeon's last team at Wichita went 17-14 and missed out on postseason play entirely. Contrary to the legend that has somehow grown, he only made the tournament one time in his seven seasons at Wichita.

Marshall went 11-20 in his first season, but has improved every single year since: 17-17, 25-10, 24-7. That's what we call a trend. Also he took Winthrop to the NCAA tournament 7 times in 9 years.

I was pimping Marshall big time a few months back but cooled on him based on the fact he hasn't made the tourney at WSU yet. However, after reading your posts I think I am selling him short. I think he would be a great coach for us and would be well received by the fans.
