Bye bye Cyclowns

Baylor not making it any better throwing the ball all over the place

The Big XII is hilariously overrated.

I'm beginning to think you were right. ISU is the last team in the Big 12 I would have picked to go out in the first round...to a 14 seed no less. If Baylor goes down, too, I may be right there with you.

exactly. Iowa State was the one team from the Big-12 I thought had the talent to hang with about anyone ....

Same about Baylor too.

Definite choke job. Played so tight that whole 2nd half - Niang trying to play hero ball taking it into double teams over and over and he had that wide open look to tie. Hah love it !! Madness here we go.... these smaller schools are showing 0 fear right now.

What made the Big XII good this year was the balance throughout the league.

Iowa State lost because they didn't bring the same passion and concentration to this game that they had in the Big XII tournament.

I always thought the big 12 was overrated this year. But I also have a feeling OU goes further than Kansas for some reason. i think OU can do well in the tourney this year. Sweet 16 maybe

UAB shot 34.8% overall and 16.7% from 3 and WON. Talk about the upset metrics being out the door.

They had 52 rebounds and 19 on the Offensive side (including 9 by a guard), what a crazy game.

Upsets are what make the tourney exciting and fun.

But one loss doesn't negate a strong season. If ISU and UAB played 10 times, the Cyclones would win 8 or 9 of those games. Today was the time they lost.

We fans love the upsets, but when it's our team (or a member of our conference) we excoriate them for getting upset.

The tourney's no better indicator of a conference's strength than the bowl season is in football. Upsets invariably happen in both.

It's all about matchups, folks. Yes, ISU came out flat, and it bit them in the end. However, UAB matched up with ISU well because they were long and athletic. UAB outplayed ISU, too. It happens. Before you go ripping on other teams, let's make sure OU gets past the (true) first round.

oh definitely. this is why I love the NCAA's.

Like watching Butler right now. I know they're seeded higher than Texas but you hear "pundits" talk and they speak of how much more talent Texas has. Then we watch the game and Butler seems to play so much better.

Execution can make up for a lot of talent mismatches. That makes the NCAA's special. Especially when the talent gaps close.

Yep. they killed ISU on the boards. As I watched they also just looked so much more energetic.

Our 3 seed is and great bracket is in the books! Hopefully it works in our favor. Come on sweet 16!!! Could our setup be any better?
