Call your shot: starting 5 (October edition)

Coach, I hate to disagree with you but I just don’t see us averaging 32 ppg from James and Muni. I think Manek will be our high scorer. Our Achilles heel will be scoring or generating a consistent offense. James has been inconsistent and Odomes has been limited offensively for 3 years. I just don’t see a drastic change as seniors. I do like what I’m hearing about Calixte.

As far as a starting offense, what you have is a no brainer, but to be a little different I’ll sub in Doolittle for Odomes in conference play..... for more size and muscle.

I’m not real worried about who starts. The great John Havlicek who won several NBA 6th man awards said “It doesn’t matter who starts, it’s who finishes that counts”.

No worries!

Just jotted down some point totals to get it rolling.

I was probably a tad overzealous. It happens!

Lets talk about points per game...

1. James- 14-18
2. Muni- 14-18
3. Manek- 12-14
4. Odomes- 6-10
5. calixte- 6-10

6. Doolittle 6-10
7. Reynolds 6-8
8. Jamal Bieniemy 6-8
9 freeman
10. kur
11. polla

Does Muni get double digits? Man, that's a lot of dunks and putbacks and baby hooks.

He should. He should be taking 10-14 shots a game. shots 60% from the floor (inside 5 feet). I think he can be really good for us.

avg 6.8 on only 18 mins last year. He should play 30-32 mins a game. He can easily get 14-16 points a game.

I have no idea how Manek will lead us in scoring unless he can create for himself more/rebound and score more this season.

He was basically a spot up shooter last season that went ice cold the last two months of the year.

True, but with all that, he still only averaged one point fewer than James. And I think those are elements he can add to his game now that he has a year under his belt. I don't see James having nearly as much room to grow.

Little off on Muni/Odomes but I think they'll pick it up very soon. a little low on Calixte, he can score better than I thought. Great addition.
