Can We Just Hire Terry Evans Already?

I think he may be the only one out there that would take the job right now.
 
I think we could hire Terry Evans in June if we needed to, so I think it's best to exhaust every possible option before we admit that no one else wants to come here.

I've liked the idea of T.E. ever since his name was brought up. He would definitely bring passion and love for the university, something I don't think Capel had.
 
I know it's a bit unpopular, but I've kinda wanted to go the Evans route too. I was b/w him and Buzz from the outset, and now with Buzz possibly out of the picture, I'm liking Evans. I understand the criticism of course, and noone knows how any of these people would turn out, but it's just my opinion right now.

I like Terry Evans,too. If we're going to take a chance on a coach,at least take a chance with a guy that bleeds Crimson and Cream.
 
I was all in on Terry Evans until Tech hired BCG and Mizzou talking about Painter. I'm afraid we need somebody better than Evans, but I like Terry and think he could be good. Just not sure I'm willing to gamble with that hire yet, though.
 
If Terry had proven himself at the D1 level, I'd be all for him. But he hasn't, so I'm not.
 
:billyWhat about bringing Billy Tubbs back for 1 year as head coach with Terry Evans as associate Head coach and head coach in waiting? that should appease anyone worried about Terry not being ready for D1 head coaching position. I truly believe Terry would be super successful as the OU HC. I think he would bring in good D1 talent and have a great style of play that will be fun to watch. Please don't delay, hire this combo today!

Tubbs is on the search committee at Lamar, as reported yesterday by another poster. So, I doubt Tubbs would be interested in that anyway.
 
No, we can't and won't. This isn't a junior college we have, you know.
