Can you guys explain some Trump things to me?

The treasury secretary was, I believe, and he reports directly to the president.

If something is not mandatory then a person should not make suggestions which might help. Telling people to wear masks where it is not mandatory is a bad thing. Don't believe it is.

People tend to disagree even if they are part of the same side. Schumer was not for the Iran deal as an example. Do you believe that the bill proposed to tax billionaires introduced by Sanders and two others was welcomed by all democratic figureheads. Also, I suppose you have been at odds with family members over the course of your life. No? Negotiations occur between opposing factions as well as like kind. Nothing new.

So he wasn’t there and just acted.

Trying to enforce things that aren’t mandatory will just make it worse.

3rd paragraph is just gibberish.

So judges should not rule on cases if they were not witnesses. A person cannot be everywhere and this is why there's a thing call employees. And how much time did Obama spend in direct negotiations with Iran.

Suggesting people wear masks when not mandatory is worthless. President should only tell people to wear masks when it is mandated otherwise he should not.

If you want to believe everyone who is homogeneous with others gets along all the time then have at it.

Completely different context. Also he was at a resort, not really working.

Evictions & masks have different types of consequences, so keep moving the goalposts to try and make a point.

When you ignore both sides and just do something that has almost no substance, other than to pound your chest, then yeah it was stupid.

Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said the White House is open to resuming coronavirus aid talks with Democrats and putting more relief money on the table to reach a compromise.

He did not give a timeline for when the sides would resume discussions, but said he hoped they could reach a deal this week if Democrats made a fair offer.

President Donald Trump took executive action to try to extend pandemic aid after talks collapsed on Friday.

But he didn’t do anything besides student loans.

It was done to speed up negotiations and nothing more. Nothing more.

You say all he did was related to student loans. First off that is how you want to see it so I'll leave it at that. Secondly, democrats would suffer from self esteem issues if they were not able to garner any assemblance of credit when it comes to student loan assistance of ANY form. They cannot allow any opportunity to claim credit for anything related to student loan help to pass before their eyes.

It was done so he could boast.

So why are you complaining?
Seems you are talking in circles...

I was having a convo with someone else & you jumped in bringing up Obama. I’m just trying to keep up with you & sheep changing the subjects while quoting my posts. Since y’all are either 1) repetitive or 2) going off topic, you could see how my responses can’t develop into a deeper conversation.

Probably validity in both of these statement... On one hand, Trump is campaigning. He has an election coming up in 90 days or so, and has to send a message that he is doing everything he can to help common people. Blaming Democrats for the talks falling apart isn't a bad political move for him.

On the sheep side, his move, even if it was just a stunt, does force the other side back to the table because they won't want to be seen as the ones unwilling or unable to reach a deal.

I think you're both right.

And a "big" thank you for applying common sense. Much appreciated.

I don't understand why they can't just pass a stimulus package and nothing else. Agree on the numbers and stop adding to the bill. That is probably one of the biggest changes the DC needs to make. And it applies to both sides.

Supposedly the democrats wanted mail in ballots without signatures or identification requirements.

Precisely! Both sides have done a despicable job with adding their "pork" to these stimulus packages, thereby screwing Americans. Of course, we've had a useless Congress for many years, so it shouldn't come as a surprise.

One of my favorite Jay Leno jokes from yesteryear was back in the early 2000s shortly before we went into Iraq. Saddam Hussein was trying to convince us there were no weapons of mass destruction. He actually invited Congress into Iraq to check for themselves. Jay Leno: "As if we don't have enough reasons to bomb Iraq; you want send CONGRESS over there?"

Shots fired outside the WH. Does anyone know the whereabouts of Steve and coolm.

The unhinged left will stop at nothing, law and order be damned.

NYC crime stats:

"Figuring out how to handle violence is one of the most complicated parts of the effort to defund the police. Overall, serious crime in New York City has not jumped this year, but murders and shootings have: The city is on pace to surpass 800 shootings for the first time in three years.

There were 793 shootings as of Aug. 2, compared with 450 over the same period last year. The shootings have fueled a 31% increase in homicides: As of Aug. 2, 237 people had been killed, compared with 181 people by the same time in 2019."

There were also mass shootings of 20 people in D.C., 10 in Denver and 6 in Philly in the past 24 hours, but who needs law enforcement.
