Capel on the KREF, interview notes

Seems like Capel is doing a little growing of his own. Great recap Sam!

Appreciate it, sam.

Sounds like the lights are one on with Coach? I think he is selling himself again! Hope he can turn it around. Thanks for the report!

I think it's interesting Capel had so much to say about transfers. Wonder if he's got a transfer up his sleeve or if we're losing someone.

Good stuff Sam!!!!! Keep it coming. I love Capel's attitude this year.:clap:clap

That's right Jmizz. Now consider that you are the AD or President sitting in a meeting listening to this 35 year old stud lay out his strategy. Listening to him explain what mistakes he made and how he has learned from them and will evolve going forward. Watching how hard he is coaching up his players. Observing how much time and effort he puts into his job. Reviewing his previous track record of success at such an early age.

What sane person on earth is going to throw him under the bus and fire him? What successful person (who has made mistakes themselves and learned from them) is going to let him go for another program to reap the rewards of his learning experiences?

I say no person who has earned success would. If you are having the same conversation in 2 years, they all would.

he has only been a stud at OU 1 year out of 5

The team has a good chance to be better next year. I don't see him being fired this year. He still has a chance to turn things around. He did loose alot of players last year. I think he will surprise people and turn it around.

It speaks more to his job security. If he feared losing his job he wouldnt think transfer.

I'm not sure if that's true. I think a coach who was more worried about his job security would be emphasizing JC players, since they dont' have to sit out a year.
