Capel putting guys in the NBA

And but even at that his list is unimpressive. If one is trying to make the argument that the top player in college basketball and his NBA prowess that's a horrible argument. Take off Tim Duncan & Kevin Durant and you have zero perennial all-stars on that list. And some guys that haven't done squat. When I first read that list I was thinking what a crappy NBA resume that group has. That group couldn't be win an NBA title right now.
I agree more with this. I think Elton Brand is pretty good, Bogut is getting to be real good. If he didn't get hurt Milwaukee would be giving Orlando a tougher series than Atlanta is. If a lot of those guys are starting for an NBA team then that team isn't real good.

Sounds to me like most guys from Kansas in the NBA

I wasn't on this board saying anything when they signed. I started posting on here after this season ended.

Well good thing because you would have been run off talking bad about WW, Tiny & TMG out of high school. :ez-laugh:

A couple people tried bringing up WW "challenges" in high school and I don't think they lived to tell about it.

I follow other schools than OU, mostly Gonzaga and UNC. And couldn't figure out why they weren't in on either of those guys until the UTEP game at the Ford Center

They weren't in on John Wall and DeMarcus Cousins either and they did alright.
If you're saying Roy passed on Tiny and TMG so he could land the Wear twins I'm not quite sure that's a very good example. :facepalm

Actually they were in on wall and cousins early on, then when Wall and cousins Narrowed their lists they didnt want to go to UNC

Its just like in college football. OU, USC, UT, and Florida aren't always on every recruits final four or five. They all have their reasons for that.

Actually there were numerous reports Roy wanted NOTHING to do with Wall and his handlers and I've never seen UNC on any long list of Cousins.
Fact is every school doesn't recruit every top kid. You just can't.
Why would Gonzaga recruit Tiny Gallon hard? It really doesn't make much sense.

Haha that group would challenge most teams in the NBA right now, actually, they would probably win it all.

PG- Jameer Nelson
SG- Kevin Durant
SF- Shane Battier
PF- Tim Duncan
C- Marcus Camby
B- TJ Ford
B- JJ Redick
B- Antwan Jamison

You would need to pick up 2 guards to in the place of Williams and Robinson. But thats a stacked lineup without all of the other guys. The lakers couldn't handle the depth of size this team would have and they are the prototype for having a huge team.

The Lakers couldn't handle the size of Battier, Duncan & Camby? Do you even watch NBA basketball? Camby is 36 years old and avgs 7 ppg. Battier is hurt and before that he only avg 8 ppg.
The Lakers have Gasol, Bynum, Odom & Artest upfront. Camby would barely get any minutes on the Lakers.

So far he's only put two players in the NBA. Blake and Taylor Griffin. And when we had them we had a pretty darn good team. So yes, great players help you win games.

I don't consider TMG and Tiny great players. Their weaknesses were a big reason we were 13-18 and they are not yet NBA players, and may never be.

I guess i need to spell everything out for you.

Brand
Duncan
Bogut
Griffin
Hansborough
Smith
Camby
Jamison
Battier
Martin

That equals quality size and depth that no NBA team could handle. Like I said, throw in 2 more guards for depth purposes and this team would be the best in the league.

And do you watch NBA? Camby's role is to be a stopper and rebound. He's not a scorer. Battier and Durant would harass Kobe. Nelson would eat on Fisher all day. Jamison can handle Odom.

love when ppg is used to judge a defender/rebounder/shot blocker.

Back to more of the subject of this thread. If we have 2 or 3 guys from last years team make the NBA then you guys really must think Capel is a horrible coach with your logic.

I thought you did when you listed the 5 starters and 3 bench players. LOL
Of course when you have a list of 16 guys you can make a long list of depth. You listed the best and they don't matchup.
And about half the guys on that list are old, beatup and hurt. I mean really you're going to use Hansbrough, Blake, Bogut, Joe Smith, Battier, etc as guys of "quality size and depth that no NBA team could handle". :facepalm
And then man, even guys like Elton Brand, Camby etc are shells of themselves.

Yep, watch a lot of it. And I just watched all 6 games where Kobe poured in 24 a night against Durant. It was Durant who was the one that was harrassed all series. And quite honestly you don't know anything about Derek Fisher if you think Jameer Nelson would "eat" him all day.

Word around campus is that Crocker is going to make a go for the NBA. Anyone else heard this?

Haha okay, since you know everything about basketball from being a Jayhawk fan I feel bad questioning you. But those guys as bench players are better than most, heck all of them start or get considerable minutes as is.

Okay, who doesn't Kobe drop 24 ppg on? At least it wasn't 34. And Fisher is a shell of himself, he couldn't stop Westbrook to save his life. Nelson would have a heyday.

apparently you didn't, because it wasn't until the fourth quarter of game 3 that durant started guarding kobe. so kobe pouring in 24 a night against durant was more like 16 at most.
