Capel to get 2 more years?

well if they win and make the postseason... it'd pretty much have to be nit or ncaa... the other 2 i think you can still make without a winning record...

I prefer to listen to how other coach's and sports announcers talk about how good of a coach Capel is instead of listening to a bunch of bandwagon fans.
Of course the other coaches want him to stay. They will keep kicking OU's rear end as long as Capel is here.

Its a good thing that you all don't make the decisions. I'm supporting this team this year and I will expect good things next year. I like how he's coached this team this season. I see this team/players improving every game.

No coach is going to bash capel, that is unprofessional. Has Bob Stoops ever bashed another coach that was about to get fired? No.

Whats great about this...next year at this time...you guys will be back on the bandwagon...Praising Capel and trying to prove that you never waivered. Cause most of you bashing Capel are the same ones that were begging him not too leave for Virginia and Arizona.

Capel is a good coach that had a bad stretch of evaluating players. Had Gallon, Warren, and TMG worked out (with their talent), this year's team would have been special. Unfortunately, they (primarily TMG and Gallon) were idiots. Capel still has the ability to coach. If you don't think he has done a good job with what he has on the court this year, you are sadly mistaken. That being said, he should be held accountable for his recruiting. I don't know how much his previous assistants had in the character evaluation, but ultimately the blame lies on Jeff's shoulders. I am not throwing in the towel just yet, but he better bring in a true and talented point guard in this year's recruiting class.

I can tell you for a fact I was not one of them. I hoped Capel would leave because I knew the chances were good we would get somebody better.

I've not been a Capel fan from day one but have supported him and hoped for the best for 5 years now. It's nothing against Capel, just that OU deserves better than a young and inexperienced coach. The mistakes he has made are all due to inexperience. Joe went on the cheap and now we are stuck.

I don't understand how anybody could ever use this as an argument to keep or fire a coach.

I think he should be given more time as long as it appears the program is recovering at a good pace. Filling holes in the late signing is a critical part of that.

OU just might have a new AD and new basketball after two more seasons. Joe C seems to think he built the OU athletic department, he did not. It was great before him and it will be great after him. I fullly appreciate some really good things have happened on his watch but he is a nut if he is committed to two more years no matter what. Now if Capel is .500 in conference play next year I could see giving him one year.

this is exactly how i feel

If we lose out, and 2011 recruiting ends the way 2010 did, I don't think he should be back.

The longer you wait to make a decision, the more you hamstring the incoming coach or Capel.

We can't afford to wait until April.

maybe i have missed something, but has joe c. come out and said anything recently in support of capel?

Joe C.has sometimes had A record of waiting to long to make changes..wrestling.soccer,mens & womens golf(non -revenue but OU athletics non-the-less.Go Sooners!!!!!

You have absolutely no clue. Our athletic department was great before Joe C? Goodbye, credibility.

fyi...Rick Barnes also said Pat Knight is a "great" coach.
