Will Capel send any of the players he signed across the vaulted stage this year? This is year 5 certainly he will have players that finished the walk right?

Orlando Allen graduated.
Longar Longar graduated.
Ryan Wright graduated.

Anyone know if Tony Crocker graduated?
Anyone know if Austin Johnson graduated?
Omar Leary?
I would be surprised if Taylor Griffin did not graduate or at the least is still working toward his degree. The same goes for Beau Gerber.

Yes, I know that Capel did not sign all of these players. However, they each spent multiple years of their college career under Capel and I think it would be quite bogus to say that Capel receives none of the credit for their academic progress solely because he didn't sign them to a LOI.

I agree, yes Tony did and so did Taylor

AJ and Omar both walked I believed.

Taylor Griffin was a very good student that was considering medical school at one time. I think AJ was also a good student. Longar spoke several languages which leads me to believe he is interested in learning and probably a good student. The biggest thing that hurts basketball players is that if they finish just a few hours short and start playing professional ball, they sometimes don't find time to complete the few classes needed.

capel has graduated 12 players since hes been here. tony graduated i saw his pics i think omar did & im not sure about AJ. i can ask him if youd like i talk to him sometimes. Beau is still with the team so i assume hes still taking classes not sure if hes graduated & just working on a higher degree? anyway.

The PG that KS signed in his last year from California, didn't he graduate, too?

Seems like he was a grad assistant or something a few years back.

Chris "I am the greatest offensive point guard in the history of basketball" Walker?

There's a picture in the media guide of Michael Neal and Kellen Sampson in their caps and gowns with Capel, who they both ended up being GA's for even though Kelvin recruited them. Gerber is a GA as well and Cade will graduate and also told Bob Barry the other day that he would like to be a GA for Capel.

Funny that the guys that actually go to class want to stick around to help Capel and the guys who don't end up leaving OU early, something we blame Capel for. I guess he should just take guys like Keith Clark, Juan Patillo, Bobby Maze, TMG and Tiny and just walk them to class each morning. Or maybe he just shouldn't recruit them, even though we all praised Capel the day they signed. Or maybe he just can't win for losing..at least with internet fans.

He should do something different. I would probably impliment a very strict policy with clearly defined punishments for missing class.

One day - it could be a week from now or 3 years from now - Frank Martin is going to do something to embarrass himself and the university that employs him. It WILL happen. It's only a matter of time.

He already has. He struck the player last year or the year before on the bench. He's also been told not to use such profane language, or maybe I'm getting him confused with Ford.

They are so desperate for a winner in Manhattan, and he is a very likable guy that they won't ever fire him for sideline antics.

They showed a clip of him on SportsCenter the other night in which he was blowing up at the press in the postgame press conference. That kind of crap is tolerated as long as you're winning. Once you have a down year or years, then the press will see an opening and go for the throat because of all the times you've been a colossal jerk to them. This actually has happened to Stoops a bit during our struggles last season and after the earlier road losses this season.

This already happens in all sports at OU and has for many years. Individual coaches control punishment for small numbers of misses. After that, there are mandatory punishments for many absences that are dictated by the university and athletic department, the coaches have no control at that point.

I think he was more mad at the student athletes who were suspended and he was made he lost the game. All of the press in KC loves the guy, so I doubt many of them took any of his statements personally.
