Carter (Gonzaga), Aziz (UW), Poland (USF) are gone. Is it time to panic?

This was my "big 3" that I thought OU needed to have a decent year next season, and they have all gone to different schools.

How does OU not land any top targets? I mean, Poland has been to Norman like 10 times this year. They put the full-court press on Aziz. Marquise had a family connection and Capel was with him throughout the juco tournament.

I can't believe they didn't land a single one of these guys.

Too much smoke in the program and no one is saying anything so the rumors rule. OU really needed Capel to say something over the past month since the Gallon situation started for damage control, instead OU is waiting for the damage.

It is just flat ugly.

Two were thought to be almost guaranteed. What I don't get is that there are certain posters that will praise the next recruit to come out of left field as "just what we need". We need players not just warm bodies, though I am certain we will need those too at this point.

Panic? Hell no.

We're way the heck past panic.

I'd say bitter resignation at the debacle that lays before us is more appropriate.

Capel and Joe C. have made a mistake staying silent over the last month.

The sharks were circling and we did nothing. Now they've bitten.

Oh, well, it will be interesting see this meltdown play out over the next 2 years.

I thought Carter was reconsidering. If OU could still get Thompson and Carter things won't be so terrible. Thompson, Carter, TJ, Cam and Neal would have been a great class in the Sampson era. All's not lost if OU can get a viable pg and Thompson.

Just trying anything to stay positive right now...

I will not panic over something in sports that I can't control. What will be will be. My disappointment continues to pile up though. I will support who ever we have next year as long as they play hard. Anything better than .500 and I will be happy. Whoever REALLY wants to play for four years (because that is probably what it will take to get back to the year before lasts results) just come on down.

I'd be more paniked if the only decent coach to set foot in Boulder in pretty much the last forever just skipped town on the first offer he got.

I have pretty much lost hope in having a decent year next year and I see nothing to let me believe that the following year would be any better. We lose the only player on the current roster that I have any faith in, Cade Davis and we don't have a single commitment for 2011.

Every day I come to this board hoping for a commitment and every day I see 10 more new threads about arrests, kids committing to other schools, kids transferring, coaches resigning and rumors of more bad news to come, most of which ends up coming only a short time later.

If it's not rock bottom yet, the only thing left to get it there is Tiny leaving or Cam/TJ wanting out of their LOIs.

I don't think Capel really cares to recruit JUCOs that much anyway. In his first 3 years he's had 1 JUCO guy that he's recruited play and that guy left after one year.

Yep. Clearly, he hates JUCOS.

Well, and Omar Leary.
