Carter (Gonzaga), Aziz (UW), Poland (USF) are gone. Is it time to panic?

As opposed to the risks you take with McDonald's All-Americans?

Blake worked out pretty well, huh?

Willie Warren was FOY, pretty much nationally.

Tiny Gallon will be back next season we'll see what he can do.

How's that compare with Patillo, Allen, Cannon, Leary...should I go on?

Problem is that Capel hasn't really had a ton of success with freshmen either. Cade is the only one of his recruits to be at OU for more than 2 years. That's the problem we have right now.

No reason to panic. Nebraska survived many years with a basketball program like we seem to have now.

After all. It is just a game.

Blake was only at OU for 2 years, was that a failure?

No, but it is when the rest of them leave early. That is part of the reason we are in this situation.

in fairness to Capel OU played with Crocker 4 year player, A. Johnson 4 year player (3 with Capel), T Griffin 4 year player (3 with Capel). Capel's problem is that he has not found and brought in many hard working players. Also i feel the youth of Jeff as a coach has hurt him in this area as well. Cannot have enough experince as a coach. Jeff is just having some major head coach growing pains right now.

Yeah but all of those were Kelvin Sampson recruits. It shouldn't be so much harder to keep your recruits here. Most of the time the problem is switched.

If anything, you can blame JUCO's for that problem.
He's only recruited 3 or 4 JUCOs Leary, Cannon, Patillo, and Allen. 2 of those got playing time(Leary & Patillo) and one was a part time starter(Patillo)

Capel doesn't seem to care much about getting JUCOs.

Wow, do we even have enough players to pracitce? We just need bodies at this point.

You're right, it's everyone but Capel's fault. He is simply an innocent bystander and all of this was just dumped in his lap. I'll just disregard all of the players that left early for various reasons, most of whom were not JUCO's.

... Cannot have enough experince (sic) as a coach. Jeff is just having some major head coach growing pains right now.

Yea, OU has become a stepping stone .. a training ground for young coaches where they can learn their trade before they take a better job.

until things are cleared up its going to be hard to convince anyone to come to OU. Lets hope we get some clarification on things so we can bring some recruits on board and get started for 10/11.

don't understand why people want to keep making excuses for Capel, this is his mess and its getting worse by the week

Why the silence, why not a little reassurance to stabilize recruiting. This is just like when Sutton got canned, and Holder wouldn't offer any reassurances to potential recruits. Is Joe C gathering grounds to dismiss Capel, and cover his bases to minimize a buy-out?
