10 rebounds in 14 minutes. Very good. Obviously need to see if he can do it against bigger and more physical opponents, but he did well on the glass.

Andrew Fitzgerald: 0 rebounds in 16 minutes. Other than James Fraschilla, the only player on the team without a rebound today.

I remember reading about how good of rebounder Drew was at Brewster ("experts" said he wasn't that athletic but that he put himself in good position and understood angles).

I loved the way he hit the glass today, BUT if he could finish those Offensive Boards, he would be an awesome key to this team

Just goes to show that most analysts don't know ****. They understand the vernacular and know how to make it sound like they know what they're talking about, but that's really about it. They make evaluations based on limited viewings of glorified pickup games and the industry rakes in millions.

I don't remember reading that at all. He has been a poor rebounder his whole life. He averaged 6-7 rebounds per game in high school, which is awful for a D-1 post player.

Fitz is what he is. He has no ceiling because he is small and has limited size and athletic ability. He is a nice scorer in the post, but thats about it.

See, we can and do agree sometimes.

You are mistaken. He was given rave reviews about his rebounding (especially during his junior year) by Telep and Meyer. Heck, he put up huge rebounding numbers at Brewster and he was competing with Thomas Robinson of KU for those boards.

If I remember correctly, Fitz averaged double figures in rebounds his senior season at Brewster.

College players are a lot bigger, quicker and more physical than anything he faced at the prep/high school level. Still, there is no way anyone will convince me that a post player his size should end the game with zero rebounds in 16 minutes. Drew has to do a better job on the boards for this team to be successful.
