If Buddy wins Big 12 POY and National POY, OU will have had the conference's POY in 3 of the last 8 years ( Blake once, Buddy twice ) and National POY in 2 of the last 8 years. Awesomeness.

I think Buddy is a virtual lock to be named conference POY for the second straight season. Anything can happen between now and the end of the season, of couse. But, IMO, Niang and Ellis are the only other players even in the running.

And, yes, it would definitely be awesome if he could win the Big 12 title and add to that honor by being named National Player of the Year!

Personally I see quite a bit of separation between Hield and Niang compared to Ellis.

yes it would...but we NEED to capitalize on that....get some great recruits in. I like what Coach K does, but hate being the "talk" only every 4 years...keep the momentum going.

I just don't see us being in top 15 maybe 20 next year unless our subs get REALLY good over the summer. Cousins, Hield and Spang are going to be missed big time.

I just want team wins and other awards are secondary. However, anyone touting Simmons for POY right now is doing it on talent and future abilities but not on play this year. Buddy clearly has to be the leader now for POY. Agree that the season is far from over and would gladly take a national championship over all the POY awards ever in the past or future of the program.

Monte Morris is getting a lot of talk too and I could see him getting more votes than Niang if he keeps playing well.

Regardless, those 4 are 4 of the All Big 12 starting team. If OU wins the conference then the other player should be a sooner too. Maybe Cousins if he finishes the remainder of the season as he has played the last few games.
