Not sure, but I have started using it in my real life from time to time. It's gonna be a thing!

Unless I am mistaken, the search function tells me that this post by playmakr is the first to use the phrase "clown post." The term "clown" had been used beforehand, but it's too hard to tell exactly when it caught on. So I'm giving playmakr the credit.

There are a great amount of OSU fans who post here and beside the occasional ribbing nothing every happens to them. The only one I recall being given the boot was blankenship and he was one who originally posed as an OU fan and even his OSU fans didn't like him.

DFWhoopster (Baylor) is a constant contributor here.

Sawyer (Missouri) is a constant contributor.

Sys and fatty (KSU) are constant contributors.

Thats 5 out of the 10 schools left in the big 12 (including OU) that constantly post here.

If this place is less than cordial then why would so many of them be willing to come here and put up with the supposed "harassment" on here?

What do you want this place to be a commune for Big 12 basketball fans? To join up with the Big 12 hoops blog and be the Big12Hoops board? I just dont see your point of opposing fans being marked as "outcasts" on here.

Don't forget to add campbest, who zealously cheers for:

--KU (first and foremost)

--New Mexico

--Oregon

--Occasionally OU

--And any team that is particularly good at the time. A true bandwagon jester at its finest.

Nobody is losing any sleep that Cheno isn't around anymore... but, I would say that this board is less than cordial to fans from around the league.

this is the most cordial board in the big 12. by a mile. goemaw, and to a lesser extent, tigerboard will let opposing fans talk, but the resident posters are far from cordial. every other board simply bans any opposing fan that creates waves.

i have a vested interest in the tolerance of this board, and i'm very happy that cheno was driven off (if he was). he was an ignorant blowhard and the board is better without him.

I started it awhile ago on this board... but, I got it from the guy (basooner) who I often call a clown on this board. Its kinda his thing and we all stole it, but now everyone in my social circle says it all the time.

Agreed, I don't know when our group started using the word either, but the phrases "what a clown" and "clown statement" are a part of our daily dialogue.

I've been calling people clowns for twenty years or more, though I have no idea whether I've ever done so in a post. And I have no idea where I picked up the term. But I've been using it for longer than I can remember.

i'll always remember Cheno's statement after we heard the report that Eddie Sutton was in a car accident. Cheno said "He must be hitting the sauce again"

Everyone was like "how classless" etc., Cheno was right! lol

This is a great board, not sure how any fan of another team could feel like they get treated poorly here as compared to the alternatives.

Yes let's all express our sympathy for the Kansas fan that got "forced out" from an OU basketball board. Good lord some of you act like this should be Big12Hoops.com. We need a little more attitude and school pride around here sometimes. Stop trying to be Mr. Nice Board all the time.
