  • 41 years of age
  • I'm not sure on his contract but I believe it's under $1 million
  • Good recruiter (not easy to recruit to Xavier)
  • Since he's been @ the D1 level (player/coach), he's never seen a losing season!!!

Let me preface this, I don't think he's on OU's radar and may not be willing to leave Xavier anyways, but this is a better hire than most names out there IMHO. Offer him $1.5-2 million and see if he listens, who wouldn't. On offense, Mack runs a ball-screening/pick & roll type set and on defense he employs both man and zone. This may not be the "popular" pick, but it's the kind of hire you make when you want to win. AND winning will sell seats and drive up interest. OU could do a lot worse.

I think hes a quality coach, but if I remember correctly he said that Xavier was his dream job when he got it and that he hated seeing people treat it as a stepping stone. Sure a lot of coaches say that, but I got the impression he meant it. I don't think he would be very interested in leaving Xavier anytime soon.

Played at X, was a captain at X, asst there and now HC.

Move on, doubt he's even heard of Oklahoma
