He had a great all around game. He hit some 3s, he set-up a few easy baskets inside, he played good defense, he fought for rebounds. I know he's looked better and better as the season went on, but I didn't expect a game like this out of him, much less in the sweet sixteen. He's a heck of a player and just freshman.

Played with great confidence, looks to step in Buddy's shoes next year

I like what I have seen from James since March started.

Need more of the same from him in the Elite 8. We need guys other than Buddy to make open jumpers. James and Woodard did that tonight. Can they do it in the coming games?

BOB and I have been leading his bandwagon. The guy is better than Walker and I am so glad he is playing well.

Even his misses look good. Maybe we go farther and he's this years Grayson Allen off the bench?

Buford had some quiet buckets and can possibly duplicate.. but he gets a little out of control.. James was huuuge today

I can see that happening. He is already trying to copy everything Buddy does on and off of the court, including his practice regimen. Young Mr. James has a great future at OU!

Buddy and Isiah's practice regimen.

Pretty much all of us agree that for this team to continue winning, someone has to step up off the bench. It doesn't have to be the same person game in and game out as long as somebody does it. It's late March. James is no longer a freshman!

Man if James somehow keeps this up.... We will be in the natty

On that note, Buddy and Isaiah are going to be the gifts that keep on giving to OU basketball for years to come. Their work ethic transferring to James/Odomes, and hopefully they'll pass it on.

True. It's obvious even he believes that. You can just see his confidence grow with every outing.

With Isiah limited to 2 points in tonight's game, I think Christian's performance was huge. 12 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and a steal is one heck of a game for a backup player who hasn't seen a lot of playing time until the last month or so.

You can probably pencil in James as a starter along with Woodard and Lattin. He didn't end up as a top 50 HS player, but at the end of his junior year he was ranked as the #1 shooting guard in Texas. He also tore up the AAU circuit but had that freak broken leg on an uncontested dunk at the end of the summer that cost him his entire senior season.

He has the body of a linebacker now. The kid is solid. I read that he was playing really well in practice and the coaches were just waiting for it to carry over to a game.
