There is no better motivation than looking into your 3 yr old sons eyes. I also have a 3 yr old son, he's not quite 3 yrs old yet but will be in Sept. As a matter of fact he was born the day before the OU/Miami football game in '07 which I watched in the hospital with him in my arms for most of the game. He was one day old! It was the first of what I hope will be MANY more OU games both basketball & football that we'll watch together. After reading several articles now about CJ Washington, he has just became my favorite Sooner basketball player and it's really not even close. I know he'll make mistakes, we all do, but I know what he speaks of when he talks about his son. It's not just his love for his son that I admire because after all you SHOULD love your kids no matter what, but it's also the way he has responded to fatherhood. So many children are stepped over and labeled 'inconvenient'. It's obvious that CJ's character is not in question and that CJ is exactly where he needs to be. The OU program needs CJ and CJ needs this OU program. It's a perfect fit and it will be very easy to root for CJ along with my Sooners next year and beyond. I can only hope that he achieves success beyond his wildest dreams for his benefit (undoubtedly a reward for having great character) and for his sons benefit for having a great dad.

I certainly think you have it right. This whole team will probably be eaiser to root for. We don't know a whole lot about them yet but all of them look to be a "bean and cornbread" type. We will see, I still think chemistry between them will be the largest factor in whether or not they do well.

I agree 100%, the more I read I about CJ the more I like the kid. Not only is he a talented basketball player but he has his head in the right place. Which is very refreshing aftr this past year.

I can already tell you that CJ will be one of my favorite Sooners over the next couple of years. I am really glad that Coach Capel decided to take a chance on what appears to be a mature, driven Oklahoma-grown young man.
