Norman High senior Chandler Coale signed a national letter of intent to play basketball at Oklahoma Christian where her mother, Oklahoma coach Sherri Cole, played from 1983 to 1987.
Chandler was a three-year starter for NHS, where she averaged 3.8 points, 1.6 rebounds, 5.1 assists (tops in Class 6A) and 1.5 steals per game as a senior. “You can never have enough good point guards,” OC coach Stephanie Findley said. “Chandler is a very unselfish point guard with excellent work ethic, fundamentals and leadership skills. She has a very high basketball IQ and really understands how to run and direct a team. Those all are things that are becoming harder to find in today’s players. We are very excited to have her joining our program.”
OC is in the second year of the three-year NCAA Division II membership process and is a full member of the Heartland Conference. The Lady Eagles went 19-12 last season and finished fifth in the National Christian College Athletic Association Championship after winning their second straight NCCAA Central Region title.
