College Basketball's Top 20 Most Improved Players

Interesting story because I would say the two most improved players on OU's team are Ryan Spangler and Isaiah Cousins. Hield and Cam Clark showed this last year at times. Hield was much more consistent than Clark but both players showed an ability to produce like they have.

Spangler averaged 2.5 points and 2.4 rebounds in 6.6 minutes playing for Gonzaga last time he played. Spangler's scoring is up by over 400% and his rebounding is up by just under 400%.

Cousins had 2.7 points and 2.0 rebounds per game. He barely had more than 1 assist to TO. So Cousins scoring is up by more than 400%, his rebounding is improved by about 90% and his assist to TO ration is higher.

.
I disagree concerning Spangler in particular. If you extrapolate his Gonzaga numbers by a factor of 4 you get 26.4 mpg,10 points,9.6 rpg.Spangler is in fact is averaging 28 mpg,11.6 ppg,9.3 rpg for OU this season.

Double double machine!

How many times have you seen it work that way?

Do the same thing for Cam Clark and tell me what you get. I think you will find that Cam was extremely effective in the minutes he played last year.

I expected Cam and Buddy to play well this season. I did not expect Cousins and Spangler to contribute as much as they have.

You know your team is in a good situation when you start bickering about who the most improved player is.

When I was a student OU didn't rebuild, OU reloaded. Maybe (with fingers crossed) Kruger is going to be a coach that reloads rather than rebuilds.

Unfortunately you have to fill a roster with contributors instead of relying on the first 6-7 guys. Kruger is doing this with lots of players who look to be solid 4 year contributors. When your team can have a lot of juniors and seniors being the impact players, and letting the freshman/sophomore learn and contribute in certain roles, you become a team like this that will 'reload' and not have to go through another overhaul rebuilding stage.
