Colton video

I've only listened to one game on the radio, but there was no color commentator. Did they not find a replacement for Colton?

I think Toby Rowland who does the Thursday night show was the color commentator on a recent telecast or broadcast.

I miss Colton because it was almost like having Sherri's opinions. He knew what his mother thought. He also knew what he was talking about. He is second only to Tubbs, and may have been better for women's basketball.

I didn't know Colton had this job but believe someone on here had mentioned it. In answer to your question, I don't know, maybe it doesn't pay enough and they got Colton as an intern? I thought he did a great job of explaining what had occurred on the floor. I was surprised at how professional he was. Anyway, it would be a good gig for an intern who wanted to go into sportscasting.

I am honestly shocked you didn't take the opportunity to bash Sherri hiring her son as a graduate assistant.

And by the way Norm, everyone quoted in that article raves about Colton's communication.

Your act is so old.

Are you Colton?

Your bashing was irrelevant to the thread, but so in character for you. We don't have to be Colton to find it offensive.

Glad you agree. It's obvious he didn't inherit his Mom's gift of communication.

I'm confused. I thought you thought Sherri is atrocious at communicating - especially with recruits. You know, using twitter, other social media, etc.

By the way, how many times do folks out here think Bob Stoops has actually - personally - used social media like twitter? What has he said about it - in publicly quoted statements fairly recently?

Sherri is a master of communication. Should she use social media more? I think so but if she can sign elite players without doing so, I could not care less.

I know, Norm. I was just sort of teasing you.

By the way, Bob was recently quoted - when asked about social media and tweets. He laughed and made it abundantly clear that he has nevrer used social media personally. None of us should ever assume when we get a tweet that it was actually typed by the apparant sender.

I expect he has an assistant who responds for him though. That works Ok I guess.

Bob Stoops hiring Mike Stoops, Patty Gasso hiring JT Gasso and Sherri hiring Colton is nepotism and there is nothing positive about nepotism, especially at a public university. They may be competent at their jobs but they most definitely are not the best hire as they bring too many negatives like perceived nepotism among others for raises, promotions, demotions and firings. Family emotions will always be involved in personnel decisions. Some media and fans will always perceive the nepotism regardless how good of job is done. And the family member hired knows that they will be more difficult to fire.

Hiring family members in a privately own family corporation or a public corporation and in a public entity are two different circumstance and I am not certain if nepotism is not practiced more in the latter. Sad!

I was not thinking about nepotism in the above post but, I cannot agree more with what you said.
