#13 Wake Forest 66, #5 Syracuse 53, 7:40 second half.

Wake is 14-20 from the field (70%) in the second half. Syracuse is ranked #22, and every early round loss by a team ranked in the bottom 10 of the top 25 increases OU's chances to host the first two rounds.

79-73 Wake with 2 minutes left. Not long ago they led by 13.

Now 81-76 at 1:20.

Wake Forest wins by a score of 85-79.

11 teams still alive in the ACC tournament, many of them ranked. I wouldn't be surprised to see another ranked team fall in the ACC today.

Nor would I.

Good game. They led by 15 with 4:08 left. At 4:07, Syracuse suddenly got over the fact that they had been about 2 of 22 from the three point line and hit five straight field goals, four of them threes, to bring it back to three (with the help of two free throws). They almost got hot at the right time to pull it out.

In the first round of the tournament, Virginia Tech got their first conference win of the year by beating NC State. That certainly didn't help NC State's chances of making the dance.

Wake has been good at all, but they have a player by the name of dearica hamby, shell be a 1st round draft pick next month, and could go as high as number 2.

I think I read a couple of weeks ago that Wake has a really good recruit coming. Not sure if this fall or 2016.

Gigantic upset in the ACC tourney!

Pitt (1-15 ACC) defeated Virginia Tech (9-7 ACC) 55-49.

Trust me, we really, really need to enjoy this one. VT was projected above us for home court seeding.

Virginia Tech was 1-15 in conference play coming into the ACC tournament. They have beaten NC State on their home court and Pittsburgh on successive nights. Chelsea Welch, a sophomore guard, played well and had seven points for Pitt.

VPI may have knocked both NC State and Pitt out of NCAA consideration.

Pitt played an amazing game. That's the example of a team that finds itself at exactly the right time. Do I think that they win more than one in the NCAA's, in the unlikely chance that they get there?

No.

Yes. Go back and look at your score and standings. It was VPI (Virginia Tech) that beat Pitt. VPI was 1-15. Pitt was 9-7.

Losing the first game of the tournament may have shot Pitt and NC State's chances.

I don't think OU makes it to the sweet 16 if we don't host. And I believe OU hosts the second round this year, would be terrible if OU didn't make it to sell tickets. Empty arena's are not good.

Pitt probably lost it at the line. They hit only 10 of 24 free throws (41.7%).

I noticed that the Arkansas coach, lobbying for a shot at the NCAA tournament, said that they did the right things. They scheduled a tough schedule, including Oklahoma at a neutral site.

Wasn't that neutral site Little Rock?
