Okay, if Andy Katz is saying that OU and Kruger are working on the details, it has to be true. Honestly, Katz is a college basketball guru (except for the Obama bracketology).

Miss Cleo is saying it's true on her psychic network hotline...so it must be true. SHe also says Brad and Angelina are making up.

Oklahoma is waiting to make it official so as to respect UNLV and allow the Runnin' Rebels' players to be told of Kruger's departure.

This means no official OU statement until tomorrow at the earliest because Kruger is meeting with his players tonight.

Haha...let's hope he's better at coaching basketball than he is industrial smoothing

Nevada-Las Vegas' Lon Kruger has accepected the Oklahoma basketball coaching job, according to multiple sources.

The UNLV coach met today with OU president David Boren and athletic director Joe Castiglione in Dallas after several days of talks.

The sides have agreed on a contract that is expected to pay Kruger at least $2.2 million a year.

mmmmm I am pretty sure that I have always responded in kind when accosted by juveniles.

Cool - we go way back, message board-wise, all the way to the secret board about 10 years ago. Who would you have wanted at OU. I agree Kruger is not perfect, too old and, maybe, a little too bland.

However, he is a better coach than Capel. Time will tell if he is a better evaluator and acquirer of talent. Capel failed too often in the last two areas to ultimately be successful. I am not in the Ting, TMG leaving cost Capel his job camp. I think it was more related to his overall failures in recruiting talented players.

Can Kruger be better? I think yes. Would I rather have Stevens or Buzz, probably. But given who is left out there, who would you want?
