Maybe that will land him a new Deodorant Commercial

Somehow, someway, we need to get this guy back in Norman.

Yes, in a game so we can kick his a$$. Good luck to Sampson....not wishing him ill will personally, but I couldn't care less what his teams in Houston are ever like....couldn't care less if he lost every game he coaches....and feel absolutely no allegiance to him whatsoever...he cheated when he was here and was a direct link to the misery that was left in his wake.......

I know Capel had a lot to do with it, but it wouldn't have happened had KS simply followed the rules and decided not to walk away from OU.

My support is fully on LK and his staff....and he has done a GREAT job rebuilding this program.....it is on the upswing and KS is simply an afterthought for me.

Sampson is a good coach, but I will stay with Kruger.

I'm interested in following Sampson's career in Houston. I still loved his years in Norman. But I agree our coach is Kruger. Just gives me a second team to root for.

Kruger is so much better than kelvin it isn't even that close.

kruger does it the right way, so that is a big reason why there isn't much comparison for me.

Good for kelvin, but he and houston are on my sh1t list for the way they are handling the Thomas situation and interfering with a good kid's future.

To be fair what Sampson did, Kruger can now do legally.

I agree..

Sampson could have done things legally back then as well.........just sayin'

just because the rules changed doesn't make breaking the rules less significant.

This is the worst thread started on this board in a LONG time.

I was a big Sampson supporter along the way...but he's not our coach anymore. Hasn't been for 7+ years. And in the meantime, he was shut out of college basketball for 5 years for breaking rules and left two great programs in shambles.

I don't wish him bad, but I don't own him congrats anymore than I owe Travis Ford congrats.

It only takes a very small amount of forgiveness, I hope he does well.

My recollection is that most were frustrated at his team's lack of offense. He proved that you could wil with just one good player and a helluva defense.

I just don't understand you guys. Thomas would not have been here if Sampson didn't restrict his transfer to school outside of Texas. Even he is not OU coach now, he is doing us a big favor. I never meet Sampson, but he did a fine job at OU. Going to all Capel years, I thought you guys would appreciate what Sampson had done. He got us to Final Fours and almost won it all with no name players. I liked Kruger and will not trade Kruger for Sampson, but I wouldn't mind having Sampson as our coach if Kruger decide to leave.

Kelvin was a good coach. Won with average players and was improving in recruiting. Probably a little naïve. Made too many phone calls but others were texting the daylights out of the recruits.

the NCAA put him in an impossible position when he went to Indiana. Compare too many phone calls to Calipari getting off scott free after a player was paid at UMass and at least one had test scores altered while at Memphis.

The NCAA was determined to make an example of Kelvin. Probably partially because he had headed the ethics committee and their everlasting love of OU. I felt that Indiana threw him under the bus and as far as I know the NCAA never let Kelvin plead his case at Indiana. Illinois turned him in and I think that was all the NCAA heard.

I have never understood those who blame Kelvin for leaving OU and going to Indiana. Who among us would turn down a major promotion. And the opening came up late. Caple should have held most of that recruiting class together and he didn't.

I understand that there are some who detest the guy but that still doesn't make him a bad coach or change his record at OU.

I was upset when he left, but, have long since gotten over it. He is a great coach and did great things at OU. He came back for our legends game. I hope he does great at Houston.
